I dislike Candy Corn. In fact my only use for it is as a vase filler. But for those that enjoy it -- here's your day
On October 30th, the country celebrates its favorite vegetable with National Candy Corn Day.
In the late 1800s, George Renninger of Wunderle Candy Company created candy corn. His sweet treat represented the bright colors of corn kernels. Originally, candy corn was yellow, orange and white. However, it wasn’t until1889 that the Goelitz Candy Company made the candy popular. Later, other candy makers developed a variety of popular colors and flavors as well.
The original confection was made by hand using corn syrup, sugar, water, marshmallows, fondant and carnauba wax (a wax made from the leaves of a palm tree). However, modern candy makers produce the treat using machines while using the original ingredients.
These days, numerous recipes create the candy corn flavors in cakes, cookies, beverages, and more.
Good Morning BN'ers!!
Don't envy you Penny. Would hate to be scraping & dealing with snow already. We're supposed to see some flurries later this week but can't imagine it will be accumulating like you've already witnessed.
Thumbs down on Candy Corn. It looks kinda cool....but the taste is not my cup of tea.
Final MLB game of the year tonight. Winner take all!! Been a crazy series with the road team winning every game. I don't really see 1 team being the favorite tonight. Better than average pitching matchup tonight with Astros Zach Greinke vs. Nationals Max Scherzer! If Nats pull it out they would be the 3rd surprise team to win a Professional title this calendar year joining the St. Louis Blues & the Toronto Raptors. If it happens I think that would be pretty cool (sorry Astro fans). Enjoy your Halloween Eve gang!!
Corona by day, Corona by night, any old time is just alright!
Good morning. I'm not a candy corn fan but when I was a kid and got some of it when I went trick or treating I would eat it. I'd rather have chocolate.
Morning, BN. Kinda liked corn candy as a kid. Now I'm not a fan. But I found a realllly good dark chocolate covered marshmallow. I think it's 70% dark with a not too sweet marshmallow.
It's a bit cloud and chilly today. But I might head on out early to explore the city before the Bob Seger show.
Strangest day so far. Car had thin coat of ice this morning. Then it rained and drizzled. Sun was out for a few miles then it got dark and dreary. Then it SLEETED! Now we have frost on the ground and trees but it is sunny. But inly 30 °.
Wonder what the next few miles will bring???

Enjoy the show, Sang!
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...
It was 77 degrees this afternoon but it was overcast all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little warmer but there's rain in the forecast. All the little trick or treaters are going to get wet. Oh well.

I've had exactly zero trick or treaters come to my door in the 7 years I've lived here. The first couple of years I bought Halloween candy and wound up eating it all myself. I don't bother buying candy anymore.
Hi there! Not a fan of candy corn, but I will eat it. We delivered 47 subs today, then I fished.
Walmart now carries facial glitter for Halloween. I bought some to try at tailgate. It covers well, BUT, getting it off is an issue. I put some on my hand and can't get it completely off. The girls of summer can remember their concert painting for awhile.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.
Where is everyone? Watching the World Series, I suppose.... The Astros are ahead 1-0... I think I'm rooting for the Nationals cuz it would be a little ironic if they won without Bryce Harper. Then again, I guess I'm rooting for the Astros cuz they're in the same league/division as the Mariners. Then again, maybe I'm rooting against the Astros after what they did to the M's this year, winning 18 out of 19 games. Then again, gotta love Jose Altuve, he ain't no Mike Trout, but he sure is a gamer.
I know the voices in my head aren't real, but sometimes they have really good ideas....

Soneone needs to be yelling louder...or get the voodoo going stronger.
