Good Morning Nancy and all others who wander in.

Our entire county rescheduled trick or treat from tonight until tomorrow night.....too much rain coming :o Doesn't matter to Kevin & I as we still plan to hide out in the basement. 30 yrs of handing out candy to an average of 100 kids a year...we've paid our dues.

We are having a wedding in Veterans' Court today. The Public Defender who is on our Vet Ct team is getting married and moving to Alaska.

Good morning Nancy and Linda. I had a bunch of fun Halloween art when I taught, but that's behind me.

Good morning. Trick or treat is rescheduled here as well for the same weather. I'll be set up tomorrow night with the
flaming tiki torches next to the big carved wooden tiki head. As every year I'll be handing out candy to the kids and
shots to the adults. :pirate:

Good Morning Gang! No cancellations here, even though tonights forecast is 100% rain for the Candy grabbers....with even a slight chance of it turning to snow....but the show must go on I guess. I live on a semi busy road so the candy grabbers have more safe/fruitful options wherein to score.

Good morning. It's supposed to rain tonight but it's already 78 degrees and humid so the little beggars will be wet either way.

We live on a dead end gravel road out in the boonies, so no trick or treaters here. We have had 1 the entire 30 plus years we have lived here. It was the little neighbor girl. The town on Mt Vernon has rescheduled trick or treat till Saturday as well. It started raining around noon yesterday and has shown no signs of stopping. Forcasting wintery mix for tomorrow morning.
Its my day off today and I'm meeting a friend for lunch at the local Mexican place and I have a couple of errands to run. Have a Happy Halloween Thursday!

Interesting fact about this year's World Series - it's the first time the road team ever won all 7 games. Not just in the World Series, not just the other rounds of the baseball playoffs, but in history. No sport that has 7 game playoffs, baseball, basketball or hockey, has ever had the visiting team win all 7 games.

Happy Halloween BN. Rainy day here also tho it should clear up for the kids this evening. Gonna be cold also but that won't stop them, I had over 100 last year. It was 78 an hour ago now down to 63, low 50's this evening and very windy.

Morning BNers

Happy Halloween!

When we left Gallup NM, it was 3° this morning....brrrrrr. i forgot how cold it used to be in this area. Lived in northern AZ for 5 years.
We stopped in Winslow AZ to find the Standing on the Corner statues. Nice little shops. Bought 4 guitar pics for earrings.
Still cold.

Afternoon, BN. I believe it's supposed to rain tonight. But the Village Halloween Parade is still on. I'm heading down there after work to hear a band.

Bob Seger was great as usual. And got to meet up with Shaun Murphy (one of the backup singers) after the show.

Oh my <insert your deity of choice here>!

The Americanised version of Halloween is being adopted here in Oz.

While I understand the commercial side of it, I mean why wouldn't business try to drag every last cent out of it?

Our neighbour has gone halloween mad, so there were many many children going to and fro from their place, which is fine and dandy.

Now, I understand the helicopter parents going with their little darlings when out and about the suburbs.

But why are the parents dressed up? FMD.

To make matters worse, they aren't even walking around the streets, they are $#@^&*%$ driving their devil's spawn from house to house...

We only had one group bash on the door (and I do mean bash) - they would have been 16 or 17 years old and were told to move on. They replied that they would egg the house. I explained that if they did that I would be forced to shoot them. "You wouldn't do that" one replied. "Are you willing to take that risk?" I said as I closed the door.

Funnily enough they fairly sprinted back to the street and went on their merry way.

Hiya Rabz! Egging houses is a time honored act of vandalism here. Why stores sell eggs to teens is beyond me.
I have posted this before, but here's a good one.
In the rural town where I now live, my grandparents were besieged with a nasty Halloweens trick. Boys ran through the back yards, tipping over the out houses. My dad worked the oil fields and owned a pulling rig,a big truck with a collapsible derrick. Before dark, he backed up to the privy and lifted it off the hole, placing it beside the pit.

Later, he had a boy tell him they would never knock over any more outhouses. Apparently, someone fell in.

My dad played the best prank of all.

It rained for about 20 minutes earlier this afternoon. The weather guy on the 5:00 news just said we might have "strong" storms tonight. My streak of never having a trick or treater come to my door has a pretty good chance of being extended to 7 years. [smilie=gt-happyup.gif]

I went to the Village Halloween Parade 3 or 4 times. I think the best thing I ever saw was a group of about 25-30 people re-enacting Michael Jackson's Thriller video.
