Good morning. I'm going to something called Art & Music Funk Fest this afternoon. The description says there will be a limited release beer every hour during the festival. It's noon-5:00, I won't be there long enough to try all the limited release beers.

Good morning all!
I don't do the other water events, just like being in a boat. And not one that goes super fast. Slow boat to China for me. Okay, maybe not China.
Out in a bit to see the Monet art exhibit with my sister. Early birthday present, and we've not done anything together (besides taking care of our parents) for more than 30 years. Then a Mom visit.
Have a good Saturday!

Good morning! I love swimming and, hot tubbing (that's a water sport right? ) And boating. Cold and dreary here again. Going wedding dress shopping with my youngest daughter tomorrow, just me and her. Have to go to Cincy to see her dream dress, then if she still loves it she will pay for a local salon to have it shipped in for the February dress shopping day with her sisters and best friend. Apparently it costs 150.00 to have it sent to a local salon..... Bryan said we are in the wrong racket!
Have a great day!
Edited to say, I water skied once on a lake in Canada on summer vacation when I was 16.

Good Morning from a VERY Soggy Lancaster, PA.
We must have had a "boat-load" of rain during the night since all drainage basins I've seen in my short travels this morning are really deep.
We won't be going to our German Clubs annual Eisfest. I don't mind standing in mud but when its pouring as well, I draw the line. We're not even sure how they will keep the bonfire lit.
I've been on many boats, only water sport I've tried is tube surfing -- that doesn't take any skill or effort on my behalf -- just sit in the tube, hang on, and enjoy the ride

Good morning BN, beautiful Saturday here though it's a little chilly this morning, still in the 50's
Surfing? Yes, I lived in southern Cali for a summer after high school, I learned how but was never very good.
Water ski? Tried it but kept falling down.
Scuba? Yes, got certified when I lived in Puerto Rico.
Boat? Bought my first sailboat in 1978 in Puerto Rico and still have one today.

Good afternoon. I piloted a boat a few times while in the Coast Guard and afterwards my ex-inlaws houseboat on the Chesapeake.
Surfed a little bit when I was a teenager. No scuba but I still snorkel when ever I get the chance. I still use the same mask and snorkel
that I've had since 1977.

All of the above.
Grew up on the beach, so surfing was a no brainer.
My uncle has a ski boat, so we did a bit of that. Also paddled surf ski's - not sure if that is skiing or surfing though
Over 20 years as a Scuba Instructor.
More years that I care to remember driving jet rescue boats in the surf. Also worked on dive charter boats.

So many people saying they can't swim.
I know circumstance would dictate this but I simply cannot imagine life without being able to swim, the freedom and weightlessness it gives makes my soul soar.
Some years ago, Mrs Rabz & I, were in Fiji. In the pool of the resort were a bunch of Fijian-Indian teenagers, all wearing floaties and life jackets. They live on a tropical island, surrounded by clear blue oceans and bisected by crystal clear rivers, yet they couldn't swim. We were gobsmacked.
Even from a safety point of view I just couldn't understand how it could happen!!

My parents grew up in landlocked Illinois and Indiana, not much water around. Neither of them learned to swim. Neither did their parents. I learned how to swim in a man-made lake in IL and my big brothers tossed me off a wooden 'raft' in the middle of a man-made lake, and I learned that way. I don't scuba or snorkel, but I can swim.

As is our usual thing, we had made friends with a number of the locals (we just can't help ourselves) and asked about it.
Apparently it isn't unusual for the Fijian-Indian kids to not to learn to swim. The Fijian kids are a different matter - just try to keep them out of the water!

That just blows my mind!
I learned to swim when I got too far out in the deep end of a family friends pool & had to doggie paddle because I was embarrassed & too scared (stubborn) to ask for help. It worked, lol.
My mom can't swim though...

This thread title has given me an earworm.
Midnight Oil were an influential Sydney Surf Rock/Pub Rock band who first got together in the late 70's. They still do a few gigs here and there, which pretty much sell out/
You may not know of them, and you may not like them but I gotta get this earworm out of my head!!
