In the early 80s, heading home to MA after a family wedding weekend in NJ, we hit up a Shop Rite and bought 48 boxes of pork roll, emptied the shelf. :o That's taylor ham for all the weirdos.

Back then it was not available up here. We tried giving our son canadian bacon on his breakfast sandwich instead, he was about 6 y.o. He took one bite, lifted the top of the roll and asked what the heck it was.
My only experience with Canadian bacon is on McDonald's egg mcmuffin but I like it. Might not be the same as the real thing...
No one cares about Canadian bacon. :P Have you had pork roll?

I haven't had a pork roll that I know of
I'll just leave that one alone. :P
Oh my, that made me lol!!
Miss ya my phriend!

Did the store ban you? Lol
I shouldn't talk......This same store (Publix) has these pre-packaged duck breasts that i love. Great on the BBQ. They normally charge about $10 each for them. Late last year, they had them on sale for $3 each (which was an error). My wife picked up 4 or 5 of them. I told her that she should have emptied the shelf. About 2 months ago, they did it again but it said $3 per pound. The packages are just under 1/2 of a pound. I grabbed all they had which was 9 of them, and took a photo of the sign. I went to the check out and the guy said $90 something. I showed him the photo on my phone, and he entered the code on the sign, and said $30 (or there abouts). I told him that it was $3 a pound, and these are a half a pound so it should be half of that. Manager guy came over and re-did it all for half that. I then shared that there is a $1 off coupon on each....i walked out of there with 9 of them for less than $5......LOL....

Many years ago, in the earlier days of Buffett News..back when a normal day was 50+ pages....i was at which was then the Reno Hilton (now the Grand Sierra Resort) in Reno, NV, and i ordered room service breakfast. Along with breakfast was some sort of "thing" which i could not identify. I took a photo and posted it. This went on for the next two years of each visit there. I don't think anybody ever figured out what it was....

As you may be aware, Mrs Rabz and I regularly head to Vanuatu to get some island time and to put our toes in the water and asses in the sand.

Just looking at the corona virus stuff from there - they don't have any cases but are pretty much entirely locked down, curfews and only supermarkets and pharmacies (and the like) open. Borders are closed - with no tourism, they are hurting.

Now there is a Cat 3 cyclone bearing down on them.

Geez Louise, when it goes wrong, it really goes wrong in the banana republics. We are quite worried for our friends over there.

Hi there! I feel guilty about having a great day fly fishing while the world is hunkering down. A young family hiked towards me on a trail, so I stepped several feet off for them to pass.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Wow, 4 pages! I'll do my part to make it 5. The Gov says I can't leave the house because I'm old and high risk. I have rum but no mix, guess on the rocks will have to do.

Fly fishing has always puzzled me. How many flies do you have to catch to have enough for a meal?

This is a Fijian rum liqueur. You may be able to find it in the US. Tastes like chocolate, coffee and toffee (as well as rum).

It's my latest tipple.

I usually drink rum with a mixer but I really like this straight (but very cold, out of the freezer). Made in a small mom & pop company out of Siesta Key. Toasted coconut is my favorite but they have a few other flavors.
Hope you like it too!
