Well it's 6.00 AM and I've been on line for work for half an hour. Pretty normal at the moment.

Except today it isn't.

I actually have to go into the dockyard. I have to do a commute. I will wait until after the rush hours.

It's probably my last visit to the island where the dockyard is - I am going in to clear out my locker and return stores and the like as I start a new role soon and that role will be permanently WFH (at least for the foreseeable future).

Rabz, I've been WFM since 2000 and highly recommend it. Don't think I could go back to commuting, random office small talk, and all that. It's a win/win. Just this week I was online working at 6am and didn't log off until 7-ish. If I had to go into an office there would have been probably four total work hours lost to commuting.

I was looking forward to watching the Hurricanes in the playoffs tonight, the Islanders don't play until tomorrow. The Hurricanes game was supposed to be at 8:00, the other Eastern Conference game was at 3:00. The 3:00 game isn't over yet, they're in the 3rd overtime period.

Astros game started. They beat the Giants last night. Maybe they just needed to come home. Let's see what tonight brings.

Hi there! I was at a loss with Rabz's term WFH. Nancy fixed that for me.

I had a creepy moment that will be commonplace for everyone. A woman we are friends with approached my group at an outside food stand to say hello. she touched my shoulder as she said hi and confirmed she was tested negative. She and her sister both had Covid. Her sister died. I was at first ,uncomfortable having her there. She was good with her health and so i relaxed. Survivors of this scourge must not become pariahs.

Well after over four months of not doing the commute and heading off today, I must say it still sucks.
