Nat'l Vinyl Record Day Wednesday @ the MSC
Good Morning BN'ers!!
So who still has any LP's in their household? I own 3 LP's. JB, You Had to be There. 2 Picture Discs, 1)The soundtrack to Footloose & 2) The band Scandal featuring Patty Smyth.
However, I passed my turntable on to a nephew about 10 years ago.
Enjoy your Aug. 12th!!

Kevin passed his collection of about 200 LPs on to a friend ( I never had records -- raised in a very strict foster homes until 17 and then had no $$ for such "luxuries").

Good morning.
I got rid of most of my albums when I moved south but I kept a few. I have Billy Joel's Cold Spring Harbor. That's his first album and at one time it was very hard to find, I don't know if that's still true. I have 2 albums from a band named Thrills. They weren't very good but they were on a small independent label called G&P Records. My cousin George is (or was, the label went out of business about 30 years ago) the "G" in "G&P". I have Them featuring Van Morrison and 5 or 6 Buffett albums from before I switched over to CDs. The White Album, which is the only Beatles record I ever bought. The Allman Brothers Eat A Peach and Live At The Fillmore. And 2 albums from The Good Rats, who were a great local band from Long Island. In the days when many people suffered from a mental disease and liked disco, if there was a bar on LI that had live music The Good Rats probably played there. I don't know if they're still around but I saw them in the summer of 2012, a few months before I moved.

I still have some vinyl albums. Most of them I held onto because of the cover art. Like "Cheap Thrills" by Big Brother and the Holding
Company and "Shakedown Street" by The Grateful Dead. The covers were done by underground cartoon artists. And I have both versions
of the "Blind Faith" album.

i'm on campus today. They said they increased the air flow in all the buildings. It was cold before but now it is the arctic tundra. I guess they think they can freeze the virus off of surfaces and people?
I must be wishing on someone else's star....

Hi there! No Covid in the boat.
I have a crate of LP's in the attic. It requires a step ladder to stand on a shelf, then a short ladder into the ceiling.
They can stay there.

If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

I have a lot of vinyl albums. Most of them are my vintage Bee Gees collection. I have a lot of items in my collection...lunch boxes, books, DVDs, CD's, sheet music. Not sure what will happen to it when I'm gone, but I have more money in it than I care to count.
We were slammed at the shop today and the rest of the week looks like the same. 3 funerals on Friday that will have to be done tomorrow and a wedding on Saturday...and the shop needs to be open all day Saturday for a Main St Sidewalk Sale
Just shoot me now.

Re: Nat'l Vinyl Record Day Wednesday @ the MSC
I went out to get a haircut this afternoon and when I got home there was a message on my answering machine. It was some guy from the Radio City branch of Chase on 51st St. in New York, he wants to talk about my account relationship. When I lived in NY I did all my banking at Chase. They don't have any branches in South Carolina so my entire relationship now is 2 credit cards and a checking account with less than $100 in it. I don't know what there is to talk about.

Re: Nat'l Vinyl Record Day Wednesday @ the MSC
Good evening.
Our internet was down this morning, so no stopping by.
Busy day at work, and stopped for a haircut on the way home. Was about 10 minutes late, as there was a fire on the side of the highway at our exit. If not kept under control, it was THIS close to spreading to our apartments.
Getting a call from Cameron in 20 minutes.
Avs won, Rockies lost.
Off to make my lunch for tomorrow, and pick out work clothes.
