Sea Food FRIDAY@ the MSC

Post by bodypainter »

Good morning BN. I like most everything that swims or crawls in water, except calamari. It feels like chewing rubber bands.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning BN, Bill, Deb, Rabs! :)

I love seafood, too! :) Except (after getting sick from someone not washing hands, NOT the food itself) E and I still can't eat raw oysters, and I used to love them. And I love calamari - I've always found it to be crispy, not chewy. Maybe it was just the way it was prepared. It's been WAY too long since I've had crab legs. :( Time to fix that.

But today it's off to work, and no seafood to be found.

TTFN! :)

In Jersey. Our seafood has two heads and fins that look like human arms. But I understand the water is cleaner.

No Seafood for me. I spend a summer working in a lab doing research on low levels of chemicals and the effects on the marine ecosystem. I was never a fan but it sealed the deal for me.

But every once in a while, when I can get a fresh from the ocean lobster, I'll take advantage of it.
I must be wishing on someone else's star....

Good morning. Seafood is in the same class as peanut butter, something that will never make its way into my mouth. If it can't live on dry land, I'm not eating it.

Lobster, crab, fish, clams, oysters, and mussels. The thing about eating crabs is you use a lot of calories
just taking them apart to eat them. :pirate:

Morning BNers

Seafood?? Only if it swims. I don't eat any of the stuff that lives on the bottom of the ocean. But I love fish. Mmmm. Salmon is my favorite and I do enjoy a nice, flaky white fish.

I saw an article online that the Seattle Seahawks released a rookie defensive back because he tried to sneak a woman into the team hotel. I have 2 questions about this:
1. How stupid is this guy?
2. If he was a star player instead of an undrafted rookie who was given a $2,000 signing bonus would they still release him?
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

My dad was a commercial fisherman as was his father as was his father (I’m a SOASOASOAS). I spent my formative years on fishing boats in Alaska, so of course I eat fish. Unless chopped up and hidden in chowder, I don’t eat Clam or Oyster snot.

A local Seafood Restaurant chain, to try and keep their supply chain going, has been selling product to the public every Friday. Conveniently, their central distribution site is about 1 mile from us and we go down and get a couple kinds of fish each week. We can make two meals out of each package, so we’re having fish 4 days per week. This week it’s Halibut and Silver Salmon on our menu.

Drove home from Gulf Shores this morning. Was treated for the majority of the trip by a free show from the Blue Angles practicing and zipping around the skies.

Hi there! I had a good report at the retinal specialist today, then had seafood for lunch.

I had crawfish boil in Cincy. A guy I met at PGH has 40 pounds of crawfish flown in and delivered to tailgate where he does the boil. Yum!

Afternoon BN.

Love most all seafood especially blue crabs but not a fan of oysters.
Husband is allergic though so I don't get it that often.

I've been on vaca & don't want to go back to work tomorrow :-? but had a nice visit the last few days at my dad's house in NC.

Happy Fri eve y'all!

Only time I've had crawfish was at a little place on the river in Foley, SC. They were good but anytime someone goffs at how much work vs reward it is for blue crabs, I ask if they've had crawfish

Sounds like a nice trip home.

Did you leave any beer in Gulf Shores for me?
