My NY Islanders get the prime time game on NBCSN tonight, I'm all set to relax on the couch and hope they can go up 2 games to none. According to one of the announcers on the Vegas Golden Knights game last night, teams that win the first 2 games of a 7 game series win the series 86% of the time. The fridge is well stocked with beer.

Drove home from Gulf Shores this morning. Was treated for the majority of the trip by a free show from the Blue Angles practicing and zipping around the skies.
I've seen the Blue Angels 3 times, in a different state each time.

Like many I've spent my life near the coast, swimming, surfing, diving all of that. I've also spent plenty of time in the Pacific islands so that means that seafood has always been in my life. When I was in high school were didn't have a lot of money, so fish became a bit of a treat.
With that in mind I have tried all sort of seafood. Including some dreadful Samoan biscuits (cookie like biscuits not scone like biscuits) that have fish in them. I've had kina (sea urchin roe) fresh from the water, it tastes of salty, gooey ocean goodness. Conch fritter, scallops straight out of the shell, scallops poached in garlic butter on an open fire, sashimi is a favourite (sashimi garfish and sashimi eel especially), grilled eel, all sorts of bi-valves and welks, moule frite is delicious, whole deep-fried poulet fish from Vanuatu is probably my favourite seafood dish at the moment (well if we were allowed to get to Vanuatu that is...)
There are two types of seafood I draw the line at:
Oysters - they are just iodine tasting snot; and
Samoan Sea Cucumber Intestines pickled in sea water (In Samoan it is called Sea (Pron: see-ah).

I like fish and I used to like crab until it turned on me and now it makes me sick. Never was a fan of shrimp, lobster, oysters or calamari and such.
First thing this morning I had a crown fall out Couldn't get an appointment until 9:00 Monday morning.
Only worked 9 hours today. We ended up with 59 deliveries but most of them went to the 3 funerals. Made 19 boutonnieres for the wedding tomorrow. Annnd, I'm back at it in the morning. Yee haw!

I think the mercury and plastic in the oceans adds flavor to seafood.

Hi there! I had a good report at the retinal specialist today, then had seafood for lunch.
I had crawfish boil in Cincy. A guy I met at PGH has 40 pounds of crawfish flown in and delivered to tailgate where he does the boil. Yum!
I tried one crawfish at a drag race in Louisiana. After qualifying one year, the track had a big party with free crawfish and Dixie beer!! Everyone was dunping the crawfish shells in piles on the ground. They did NOT clean up the trash during the night. Imagine if you will, beer cans and old crawfish shells after sitting in the sun all day.

In my previous post I neglected to include shrimp. I wish to go on record that I like shrimp.
Especially with lots of Old Bay and dipped in spicy hot cocktail sauce.

That's a wonderful list Rabz posted!
Another childhood favorite I have had maybe twice in the last 40 years. My mom was from Massachusetts and we ate swordfish steaks once a week. It was cheaper than chicken then. I won't pay for it now.
Mom also made an oyster corn casserole that we would lie about to unwary guests. My older siblings brought people home from college and the service to dinner. We called the dish "possum stew". My father's house was built from old building materials, including barns. One would expect food like that in our house and politely roll the oysters around their plate. We would then fess up.

they generally buzz my house every Tuesday AM..........they pass by, you don't see them, and then you hear the sound....so you sit and watch for the next pass

No Seafood for me. I spend a summer working in a lab doing research on low levels of chemicals and the effects on the marine ecosystem. I was never a fan but it sealed the deal for me.
But every once in a while, when I can get a fresh from the ocean lobster, I'll take advantage of it.

Good morning BN. I like most everything that swims or crawls in water, except calamari. It feels like chewing rubber bands.
It gets rubbery when it is cooked wrong.
Low and slow, e.g. very long slow simmer keeps it tender, or flash quick, e.g. deep fried. There is no middle.

There's a lot of hockey on TV, this might turn into a 3 beer night. I don't have 3 dogs.

Three dogs need more then three beers. You want enough so you wake up the next morning and wonder who are these dogs and which bar did I find them.

Your thoughts on the bar at the Lodge?
It's on my 'to visit' list.
