I had a co-worker whose on-line checking account was hacked..... the hacker used the account to pay his water bill.
On the positive side, the authorities didn't have any trouble chasing the crook down.

GRRRRRR -- Kevin went to purchase a $17 item on our credit card and it was declined (twice). I logged onto our bank account and saw 2 charges totaling $400 to places neither of us has ever heard of.
Called the credit union who said they flagged our account when those 2 "unusual activity" charges hit. They hadn't even had a chance to contact us before we tried to use the cards after the account was flagged. So, the card has been deactivated and we need to wait 5-7 business days for new ones.
Biggest pain is now we need to change all of the automatic payments we have made to our card - which we do because we get 3x cash rewards for every purchase AND the credit union has no card fees.
We'll survive
Years ago when I still had a job, a friend and his wife came to NYC on vacation and I met them for lunch one day. Somewhere between the restaurant and my way back to my office I was pickpocketed. In the time it took to call the credit card companies and report my cards were stolen, the pickpocket ran up a little over $800 on my AmEx card. This was in midtown Manhattan. Saks 5th Avenue was 2 blocks from my office. Tiffany's was a few blocks away. Lots of expensive boutiques within walking distance. They went to The Gap and a shoe store.

Made my first visit to World Of Beer today. My first beer was Gold Medal Taiwan Beer. It wasn't very good, Taiwanese Budweiser, but it's brewed by the Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Company. If they made condoms and 'ludes they'd have all your vices covered, except gambling.

I camped on South Bass island on lake Erie with friends in 16. It was during a PHlocking at Put In Bay. The weather was volatile with sun and storms. I felt trapped. I thought of the Polynesians crossing the Pacific, They wanted off those little islands too.
I have a wonderful childhood memory of canoeing to an island with my two older sisters. We were at a family camp on a lake in New Hampshire. I was 5 or 6. The island was a rock pile, some bushes and a small sand spit around 80 yards from the dock. For three young kids, it was pure adventure! We may have spent only minutes out there, but the memory stays with me to this day.

I was checking out the beer list at World Of Beer and there was one I wanted to try just because of the name. It's from Denmark and it's called Dansk Mjod Viking Blod. Then I looked a little closer. It's mead not beer, which isn't necessarily a deal breaker because I've had a handful of meads and I liked most of them. But it was 19% ABV and a 12 oz. bottle was $35.00.

I wonder if major league baseball will make this change permanent? In minor league baseball double headers are always 7 innings. I hope they get rid of the other minor league rule, starting extra innings with a runner on second base. I didn't like it last year in Pelicans games, I still don't like it.

The 2nd base peron didn't help the Astros. I think they lost almost all of their extra innings games.
The game tomorrow has been postponed until Sept. There will be a double hitter in Anaheim.
At least Houston is paying arrention to Laura.
They are beginning to evacuate Beaumont.

As a kid, I wondered why the beach only appeared in 2 of the first shows.

Last time we were in NY, we drove through 5 boroughs. Not sure we were suppose to, but we did. Lol
