Imagine living to 90 or 100 years old, being a VERY social critter and almost never seeing one of your brothers/sisters/cousins/other people, never seeing a Eucalyptus tree, never getting grubby climbing in tree hollows, never soaring above the trees.

Worse still, hearing the same joke over and over "He's seen a cockatoo".

No wonder they are excited.

My High School Jr. Grandson Chase ran his personal best yesterday on the Cross Country Course in his 4th meet of the year. Time was 2+ minutes better than he ran as a freshman on the same course. Proud of the young man. He has such a great attitude about his sport. Last season his team made state finals. They take 5 runners to state meet + & alternate. The #6 runner was a Senior & 3 seconds behind Chase in qualifying time. Coach took the Senior as #5 runner & took Chase as alternate. Kid didn't complain one bit about it. Was just happy his team had success & that he was a part of it.

Gotta say, I never was a runner...did the contact sports, but I do like the message on his shirt!
The shirt is great! And I'm happy he has access to sports. So many season schedules have been cancelled due to covid.

Good evening boys, girls, beers, and birds.

Couldn't stop by this morning, running a little late. Work day was finally a little calmer, so I got many things caught up, but still have things that aren't. Priorities.

Congrats to the grandson, Ken!! :D

Got the trash taken out to the front door. We have dumpsters we can take it to, but they provide a pick up at your door service 5 days a week for $28 a month. Worth it to us, cause the dumpsters are a fair walk with often heavy bags.

Clothes ready for tomorrow, lunch made. So while E is gone, Cameron and I are gonna watch a movie he's been wanting me to see. "Batman Begins". :)

Probably check in later. Cheers!

Just shoot me now! There are 3 funerals for tomorrow, 2 for Friday, a wedding to get done, another wedding to deliver plants for on Saturday, a new funeral that we just found out about at 3:00 today which is at freaking 8:30 on Saturday morning? Who does that? We have to have funeral work delivered 2 hours before the calling hours. Luckily we can deliver it as late as possible Friday afternoon. And my boss is going on a short vacation starting Friday and won't be back until Tuesday AND the other designer is ALSO going on vacation starting Monday.... so it's just me doing all arrangements on Monday. Yikes! Monday's are typically out of bounds crazy! We did 26 deliveries today and are starting tomorrow off with 28! We did 2900.00 today....wish me luck! I worked till 6:00 today and I need to be back in by 8:00 in the morning. Thankful for my job, but I'm not sure it's ever going to slow down any....

Hi there! nice reading the thread today.

Kudos for the grandson, Ken. My brother did CC and now two great nephews run thru the woods.

The parrot story is cute. imagine all the parrots around the world that swear in different languages.

That's just it....no there is another downtown florist that I used to work for a long time ago right after I completed design school...and the 3rd downtown florist sold a little over a year ago to a new owner and he lost most of his staff early in the year and was unable to recover after COVID hit, so that shop is closed permanently. There is another small shop in town as well. And the local Kroger has a floral department but as far as I know, they don't do any custom orders or deliveries.

It's been a busy 24hrs for me. Hubby decided about 6 months ago that he wanted a (puppy) beagle. We already have Lucy who is a 4 year old mixed breed shelter rescue & Roscoe who is about 100 year old beagle 'rescued' from a friend who wasn't taking care of him. Well, last night we got Mickey. An 8 week old beagle :o. Don't get me wrong, he's adorable! He's got 3 black spots on his right side that look like Mickey mouse's head (hence the name) & he's very sweet but it's been a looong time since there's been a puppy around here. We crated him last night (& plan to continue to do so) but he cried most of the night. So there was very little sleep for us & I had ot today. Hoping for a better night tonight...
The other 2 seem to be ok & are even slowly warming up to him.

He is stinking cute! For some reason, I can't post pics. Took me a while to figure out how to then got a msg when I tried that the file was too big. I sent some to Salt. I'll ask her to post them for me.

So what is with these dudes who have to hold there money in there hand, and show it off? Do they think that the Hooters bartender is going to jump over the bar and land in their lap because they have $80 in twenty dollar bills being flashed at them?....I am going to try holding my American Express in my hand, and see if i get any more attention..
