My state park pass expired Sept. 30 so I went to the park to get a new one. I pulled up to the gate, showed my pass to a very nice young lady in the booth and told her it was expired and I had to get a new one. She told me they owed me a month. When the governor put the state on lockdown, it included the state parks. They were closed the entire month of April so everybody's park passes were extended for a month.

Afternoon BNers
I used to watch NASCAR every weekend but with the rule changes and people retiring, I'm not sure what I am watching any longer. Think I will stick to NHRA. Makes more sense to me.
Astros start play best of 5 with the A's today. Could be exciting.

Again, how do you change a rule in a race??? From the little i know (which can be argued further), they shouldn't even call it a race. We start here, first guy to get to "there" wins.....that simple...

NASCAR is on at my folks house starting Thursday - Sunday. Mom is a huge fan. I took her to the spring Atlanta race back in 2006? Watch is by default because, it was on.
It's Monday. Students were actually camping out to pull football tickets this morning. Haven't seen that in forever. We play Florida Saturday at Kyle. Hopefully the team shows up.
I believe I was there, Atlanta spring 2006. I've been to many races, several in Atlanta, Daytona and Talladega. I worked the Talladega race in 1997 and 2005, was the emergency medical helicopter pilot.

I don't think i have ever even watched a race......still don't understand how it goes to Overtime...
Does a horse race ever go to Overtime?.....isn't it the same just that rather than riding in a car, you are riding on a horse?
I knew of the changes where they wanted to 'finish under green' but haven't really kept up on the other changes. I get where you're coming from on 'not getting' how it goes into ot though. I don't get that either. It's not really 'ot' to me...

They should have pedestrians running in the middle of the track.

I recall that.....you were the one they interviewed on TV after you made the emergency flight to the liquor store for more beer, weren't you?

Nascar OT, if the race is scheduled for 500 laps and there is a wreck on lap 498 it could take 5 laps of caution, no passing, for the track to be cleared of wrecked cars. Then they get 2 laps of green flag racing to finish the race. That's more than 500 laps, Nascar calls it over time. If during those last 2 laps of racing there is another wreck then there is another caution with no passing, could even be a red flag where they stop the cars while they clean up the mess. Then they try again for 2 racing laps to finish the race, another OT.
Clear as mud.

Didn't think anyone remembered that. I do remember a Coors run from NAS Key West to St Louis or somewhere west of the Mississippi back in the early 70's.

There are many many rules in all types of auto racing. You have to understand the different rules to 'get' racing. CNF is more knowledgeable...talk to him.
If you think NASCAR is driving in circles, you also think drag racing is just driving in a straight line.
LOL
