just when we think we'll get a break.....there were protesters at the courthouse this morning.

They were protesting because the riot protesters that were arrested a few weeks ago and hit with $1 million bail (which made national news) were here for their next scheduled court proceeding.

Sigh.......

I started my time as an ems volunteer. Thought I wanted to go full on (fire & ems) career. Started fire training & realized there was no reason to run into a burning building that everyone else was running out of so I went into dispatch.
I do volunteer on the SAR team but they know, although I would go in the woods if absolutely needed, I'm a trailer b****. They're ok with that, lol

I flew H-3 SAR helos in the Navy, had a lot of respect for the SAR crewmen.

Initially these were Bell 47G's (VH-CSW) and later we used Bell 206B's.

Another long day at the shop. I was in before 8:00, but I did get out on time. 2 more funerals for tomorrow and another one came in at the end of the day for Wednesday. We had another 1900.00+ day today, but everything except one order for tomorrow was done by closing time today. My boss returns tomorrow, but I'm planning on being there early in the morning to bring her up to speed...

I assume the profit margin varies on the flowers used, so do you work prices on a formula or go with experience?

I can't imagine jumping out of a perfectly good airplane and I don't think I could ever fly in a helicopter.

There's a formula. If you call and want a 60.00 flower arrangement, designers choice ( meaning not a picture from a website) ...bright colors or fall colors etc for delivery in town Mt. Vernon. The delivery charge is 5.00. So your total is going to be 60.00 + tax + 5.00. The first thing I will do is determine what vase we are going to use. Let's say I choose a 7.00 vase, so we are down to 53.00. Then I take off 7% labor, so now I have 37.10 for greens and flowers and I choose the freshest blooms that fit your order and I create a custom design for the recipient. At my shop, carnations are 1.25 each, Roses are 3.00 each, daisies/ mum's are 2.00 a stem ( with multiple blooms on each stem) lilies are 5.00 and the list goes on and on....

From my experience, there are no perfectly good airplanes.
