Not a fan of hot sauce, though I do like spicy foods.
Probably been 5 or 6 years since I sat on a jury, he was accused of double homicide, found guilty and sentenced to death. I haven't been called again.

Last time I had jury duty the case was settled. At least I was off from work for two days.

When I was in law school I had an internship in the Nassau County D.A.'s office one semester. One of the ADAs told me they didn't like picking a jury on Fridays because the only people left where the ones who weren't smart enough to get dismissed earlier in the week.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Re: National Hot Sauce Day Thursday @ the MSC
I'd been called to Jury Duty several times (state and county courts) but always had a high number and just had to call in on Mondays to see if I needed to go in. A couple of years ago I sat on a City of Seattle jury, hearing the case of a one-armed crackhead homeless guy that was beating his dog on a street corner while begging for change. He pleaded "not guilty", saying that he couldn't have done it because he loved his dog, only had one arm, and was too high to do anything anyway. He couldn't explain what all the witnesses saw and they must have mistaken his dog's cries of pain for yelps of joy.

I was called for jury duty once, but they selected the jury and alternates before they got to me, so I was dismissed.

Hi there! I spent a great day with an 81 year old friend who out fished me 2 to 1.
I eat hot Mexican, but almost never use tabasco.
I was called for jury duty twice as selected once. I was okay with the obligation till the O.J. trial. Someone stated that jury duty is the only form of indentured servitude. I have decided that I may avoid any jury duty now.

If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Re: National Hot Sauce Day Thursday @ the MSC
I have been called a few times. The only time I was picked was a drunk driving case. Everyone knew she was quilty. It was obvious but the lawyer didn't ask the right questions. It was like he was on her side. It took us 2 days to decide. One of the jurors finally said...she is innocent until proven guilty. They didn't prove she was guilty. We had to let her go.
The next day at school, I wore a DARE shirt because I felt so guilty in letting her go.

It seems "Aussie Rupert" may have finally decided enough is enough and looks to be withdrawing support of his news empire. Finally an 'Aussie' has to step in and fix things...

Well, it's time to call it a night here. Busy day. Work 1/2 day. Appointments and a Mom visit. E and I are taking a few days to get away.
No idea what this means - unless you mean Rupert Murdoch? And then I still don't know what you mean. But things regarding electing a president here are done differently than in Australia. We'll get it figured out, whether or not everyone agrees/likes the outcome.

Re: National Hot Sauce Day Thursday @ the MSC
Oh, and cause I know you're wondering.. LOL!!
I've been called to Jury duty around 7 times. Made it to the selection process for a domestic abuse case, but I was dismissed cause of my past history with it.
The other I had to serve for a DUI case. I would have voted not guilty cause the guy wasn't driving. But in Colorado? You don't have to be driving. Just parked, engine running and in the drivers seat, qualifies for a DUI. It was an interesting process.
G'night all - sweet dreams.

Re: National Hot Sauce Day Thursday @ the MSC
I guess it was a little obscure. It appears that (former Australian) Rupert Murdoch's minions have started speaking out against Trump (NY Times and Fox News in particular).SMLCHNG wrote: ↑November 5, 2020 11:12 pm No idea what this means - unless you mean Rupert Murdoch? Just a friendly little dig. I am sure you guys will eventually work it out and then the rest of the world can decide how to react.
