Nothing planned here except being at home. And that is so much different than every day since March 15. 😁
Amen, MsMolly! Here in the SPH household it's March 300th.

Like many others this is our 1st Christmas eating our special dinner alone (for us that’s 43....37 yrs of them as being married). Whodathunk....

We are heading to our daughters in a few minutes for a quick gift exchange. The most fun will be watching 9yr old grandson Eli who still has tons of Christmas spirit :D
Enjoy your grandson! This is the first year we are spending Christmas alone. 11 years ago yesterday my mom died and we have a tree with all the gifts for the kids still under it. Hopefully Bryan will be able to deliver them soon.

Be thankful for those extra gifts.
With only 3 of us, it is very quiet. After gifts are exchanged, it isn't much different than a normal day.
When I was younger, we had both sides of the family with so many cousins running and being excited for Santa. I miss those days so much .

I really missed teaching when Christmas came along. I had so many wonderful crafts and sculptures that became family keep sakes. My replacement was a dour woman who did little holiday art.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

That is too bad. I am sure the kids missed your art classes.

Just this week on FB, a grown student posted an ornament she made in second grade. It made me tear up.

We have a chestnut tree in our yard. I have mixed feelings about it.
I like the nuts when they 1st fall out of their hull & are fresh. They tend to get worms in them often though, eww! Roasted them 1x & didn't like them.
I hate the tree though. The 'hull' is a spikey shell that the nut grows in. The hull opens when the nut is ripe. The nut falls 1st & then the hull. Not nice to step on!

The nuts or the hulls?
Either way, they fall at the beginning of Fall so they are gone now. Remind me next summer & you'll have some
