I had to look up Ro-Tel, I don't think I've seen it in a store here.
"Ro-Tel (stylized as Ro★Tel) is the brand name of a line of canned tomatoes and green chili. There are different varieties of Ro-Tel in varying degrees of hotness and spiciness. The brand was acquired by ConAgra Foods in 2000 from International Home Foods. Ro-Tel gets its name from its inventor, Carl Roettele, who started a family canning company in Elsa, Texas, in the 1940s. It is commonly used in making chile con queso, particularly with Velveeta."

Hi there! Our second cheap coffee maker of in a year died. We looked at Walmart and I looked at Kohls online. Today we drove an hour to Kohls, Anne picked a model at 120$ and we left. I would normally check other store's prices, but this wasn't the time. Once home I found in the mail a 15% Kohls coupon starting Friday.
I'm drinking 18$ worth of coffee to make up the coupon savings in the next few days to make up for the difference.

If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Omg....you don't know Rotel??? How do you survive??? We keep multiple cans in our pantry at all times! You never know when you will have a craving for chili con queso and/ or taco soup!!!!SeattleParrotHead wrote: ↑January 11, 2021 6:44 pmRecipes & Boat Drinks: http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=7SaltSaltSalt wrote: DIdn't BN have a "Recipe sharing" thread at some point?

It's probably archaic, and maybe heresy, but we just open up cans of tomatoes and chilies separately.... Haven't had Velveeta since I was a kid, and that was a long, long, long time ago!MsMolly wrote:Omg....you don't know Rotel??? How do you survive??? We keep multiple cans in our pantry at all times! We have tomato sauce, tomato paste, stewed tomatoes, and diced tomatoes in our pantry, but no Ro-Tel. I'll have to look for it the next time I'm in a grocery store. I haven't been in a grocery store since last March; Mrs SPH insists on doing the shopping because of all my risk factors.

I understand, you probably don't eat alot of TexMex. Lol I don't think this part of Texas can eat without TexMex....so yummy. I swear, we eat more flour tortillas than any non-Hispanic family around!!!!SeattleParrotHead wrote: ↑January 11, 2021 7:58 pmIt's probably archaic, and maybe heresy, but we just open up cans of tomatoes and chilies separately.... Actually, we do! Tuesday is usually TurkeyTacoTuesday, and we have a few other SW inspired recipes that we make often... Chicken Enchiladas, Chili, and a really good soup/stew made with pork loin (that Ro-Tel might be great in!) We always have both corn and flour tortillas in the 'fridge (but only 10 count) and we buy TraderJoes salsa three at a time cuz chips and salsa is our go-to snack.MsMolly wrote:I understand, you probably don't eat alot of TexMex. Chillies in a tin? I don't get nor do I think I have ever seen, other than Choptle en Adobo.
We use a combination of fresh chillies (just outside the back door really) or chillies we have dried. Occasionally we get hold of certain dried chillies in varieties we don't/can't grow.

And it's funny - I was organizing my Mom's old recipe box, and she had Rotel on a recipe from the 80's.
