We have lots of micro-bat species here in Oz, they are so cute.
We don't have many in urban areas, well not the 'bats in the belfry' type. What we do have is Fruit Bats aka Flying Foxes. These can be an issue. They flock together in their ten of thousands. The noise is horrendous and the smell is execrable. Communities and organisations try and get rid of them, but the usual do-gooders and greenies (who live elsewhere it usually turns out) jump up and down and have all sort of hissy fits about it.
In Vanuatu they have a better solution. They eat them.

Our main species in the eastern US is called the little brown bat. A fungus has plagued the species enough to put numbers way down. A very exclusive area on a lake one hour north has supplied bat houses to keep as many bats around as possible. They keep down the mosquitoes.

Nobody does! Imagine getting a fruit bat inside a house. Now, there's a problem.

It used to so much colder here in the winter, I had to put a trouble light under both cars to keep the engines warm enough to start. Even then, a charger had to used to turn over the engine if the battery was weak.
Batteries today go DEAD immediately, unlike the old ones. Cold weather helps kill them too
Good luck, Moog.

My dome lite was left on for a week. A simple bulb change last week turned into replacing rear sockets, dead battery and 6 man hours.

Can't remember the last time I desulfated. Wasn't pleasant though.

0 volts?
A battery should never show 0 volts, unless a cell has collapsed and there is an open circuit in the battery in which case it is terminally fatal.
And no I am not really the 12v Man...

Our county got more vaccine.
Enough for 400 shots. 400??? That isn't even enough to get started. At this rate, we won't get vaccinated until next Christmas.
