Good morning BN. No Mardi Gras this year, but we can still wear beads under our coats.

Good morning Bill and Deb!
A balmy 3 degrees this morning - but better than the -11 yesterday. Our local weather guy mentioned "shooting 6 holes in the freezer" kind of day.
And I'm off to that work place. Leaving a little early for a dentist appointment. Replacing one of my 5 fillings that's about 30 years old - then a cleaning.
Have a good Tuesday!! Keeping Texas folks in our thoughts..

Good morning. It's 59 and sunny, today's high is supposed to be 65.
I finally finished watching The Sopranos. I had seen some of it before, including the final episode, but not the entire series. I didn't like the way it ended the first time I saw it, I still don't. Tony's sister Janice was my least favorite character. Stefani Germanotta was in one episode, before she became Lady Gaga. The Sopranos was filmed mostly in New Jersey with some scenes in New York. One of my favorite TV shows was Person Of Interest, which was filmed in New York, I've seen every episode multiple times. While I was binge watching The Sopranos, I must have seen 40-50 actors who also appeared in Person Of Interest.
I'm one of those people who watches the end credits for movies and TV shows. At the end of every episode of The Sopranos they had a "Special Thanks To" card and it listed all the locations the episode was filmed in. At the end of the next to last episode one of the places was The Village of Lynbrook, NY. I lived in Lynbrook for 5 years. I never saw Tony.
If you play the Kevin Bacon game, I'm one degree from The Sopranos. In one episode Uncle Junior was digging up his backyard. He told Tony he was looking for the money from his share of the Bohack haul in the '70s. Bohack was a small supermarket chain with stores on Long Island and in New York City. I worked at Bohack when I was in college.

Afternoon BNers
It is a toasty 23° in Spring!!! So far, we have power. About 7 pm yesterday, we lost cable/internet. We have a backup internet service so we were just without cable until this morning. Sometime during the night we lost water so no showers or flushing for us.

It is a problem with our UD district so our pipes should be fine.
So many in our area have been without power since early yesterday so we have been lucky. 1.3 million without power in area.

good afternoon everyone
Yesterday, on our day off, we stood in an indoor hockey arena for 2 hours yesterday to watch our 7 yr old grandson play in his 5th tournament game in 3 days. it was even colder in there than outside!!! THe Jr. Hershey Bears placed 2nd (I believe there were 10 teams). There were cars in the lot with plates from Ohio, NJ, NY, MD so we were glad we were only 45 min away for this game. We brought Austin home with us until dinner time when his daddy was done working. I then spent an hour of that time on the floor playing "hockey" with him using kitchen spatulas, 2 baskets for goals and a small soft baseball as a puck......the kid never stops. Well, except for bath time which we try to make last for as long as possible. Glow sticks, finger paints, army men and sponges in many shapes helps with that.
The Courthouse is now "Open to the public" for the first time since March. We are actually scheduled for criminal jury trials beginning March 8. However, we are still not permitted to leave the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for any reason without quarantining upon return for 10 days or having a negative COVID test (although there is no one to report to or prove travel or testing).....whatever.

The irony that we need to quarantine if we go out of state, but all those hockey players came here.

The Carolina Hurricanes made a trade with the Ottawa Senators a few days ago. The NHL has all 7 of the teams based in Canada in one division this season and they're only playing each other so they don't have to cross the border. The guy the Hurricanes traded has to quarantine for 14 days before he can play for Ottawa. The guy they got from Ottawa was able to play right away. Instead of flying from Ottawa to North Carolina, he drove. The league said since he was in a car by himself that was like being in a bubble so he didn't have to quarantine.

I am two degrees from Kevin Bacon. (So is Toni).
Many years ago (before we started going out) we were both working on tour at Australia's biggest country music festival in Tamworth, NSW. Toni was working for a management company and I was working as a staging tech.
LeAnn Rimes was the overseas headline act. She was about 13 or 14 at the time. I had no idea who she was, not being a big fan of country music. At one gig - one of those 10 bands each doing 3 songs jobs - I was moving gear in (or lugging as it is known) and this little blonde girl kept standing in the middle of the doorway. I asked her to move (politely) a few times but she kept wandering back. In that type of gig it is quite frantic out the back as you only have about one minute to get one band off and the next one on, so people lolly-gagging about and getting the way are a source of frustration. In the end I took her by the hand and led her outside the door to a plastic chair that was there and said she could sit there and enjoy the afternoon sun if she liked.
About then her big burly minder appeared (I happened to know him) and tried to act tough. He then stood in the doorway. I wasn't so polite with him. As I walked back in I bashed the guitar case I was carrying into his leg and told him that he'd get more if he continued to block the only door. The next roadie through the door also tagged him with a roadcase. Needless to say he moved away to "protect the talent".
It turns out the girlie in question was LeAnn. Later in the festival Toni was given the task of taking her shopping - apparently because of her celebrity status LeAnn couldn't go to the shops in the US for fear of being mobbed. Toni asked a couple of us roadies to tag along as security. (We weren't needed as the punters were more than respectful). We got to have a chat with LeAnn and she seemed like a nice kid whose life had spun out of her control and she was being carried along on a wave of fame.
Anyhow, back to Kevin Bacon. Kevin and LeAnn dated for a while. So Me -> LeAnn -> Kevin. Two degrees!

Thanks! Us too. Going to wait on laundry. We are suppose to conserve for a few days.
County Judge is mad. More and more people are losing power. Carbon dioxide deaths are up...people bringing bbq grills inside or sitting in cars with them running....

Aloha, peeps.

Haven't been outside since walking the pup early this morning. Everything is ice over snow here now but our public works guys do a great job keeping roads clear so we can still walk.

Do I? Maybe we are just dirty people??? Lol
Decided not to do the load. District is asking everyone to conserve until everyone has water. As long as we don't run out of undies!!
