I guess by now everyone has heard about the impending emergence of the 17 year cicadas. My brother and his son
were working a landscaping job in the county just south of us. A woman's house, tree, and yard are covered with
millions of the creatures. At the base of her tree the pile of discarded outer shells are about 4 inches deep.
She has lived in the house since 1950 and says this is the worst she has ever seen. The worse part is at night when
they start "singing". I first saw them in 1970 and the sound was something I'll never forget.
Who's got the rum?

Between periods they showed a picture of Jim Cantore wearing a Carolina Hurricanes jersey but he made the wrong choice. He had the jersey they wear in away games, it just says CANES on it. Their home jersey has the meteorological symbol for a hurricane on it and their alternate jersey has 2 storm warning flags with a hockey stick for a flagpole.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Race in Baytown has been postponed until maybe tomorrow. Ugh.
Spring in Texas isn't a great idea...ever.

NASCAR is racing in Dallas in the rain. Of course the have rain tires.
But the cars are all over the track, backwards and sideways.

Astros are in extra innings.....

I surprised Bryan years ago on his bday with tix to see Ted Nugent and ZZ Top.... one of the best concerts ever! I'm going to say that this one will be freaking awesome 👍
I've seen John Fogerty a few times, he always puts on a great show. I've never seen ZZ Top or George Thorogood. I was supposed to see Thorogood at the House of Blues a few years ago but the show was cancelled, we were in the path of a hurricane.
Fogerty opening for JB only time I’ve seen him. I’ve seen ZZ 4/5 times. Although last time was probably 10 years back.

Sang and I saw John Fogerty when he opened for JB in Dallas. And I saw ZZ Top at the rodeo. It is amazing how 3 guys can put out that much sound. Wow!

I'm pretty sure they aren't gonna show up in CO. Just like lightning bugs - they don't travel to higher elevations.
