Chasing a new job (same employer, but better position, more money, etc.). If I can nail this one down I will be good through May 2023, which is my retirement target.

Showered and got all gussied up with makeup and a nice top...and then couldn't get in to the link to record the interview. This is after testing it all out yesterday afternoon. Waiting for the recruiter to send me some new access link and code.

Storms brewing here all day so now I'll just finish some inside chores and chill.

Good morning. It's my last day in Nashville, I'm trying to decide if I should take my first ever Uber ride or ask the hotel to call me a cab to go to the airport.

HOG, last time I travelled for work (to Connecticut two years ago) there was a welcome event in the evening. Rode with a coworker to the event. When I was ready to leave I asked the host/manager to call me a taxi back to the hotel and he looked at me like I had three heads. Apparently everyone uses Uber/Lyft now and he was telling me to just download the app and do that.

He finally called a cab company but it took some convincing. I don't do apps.

I have the Uber app on my phone but I've never used it. I pulled it up and the ride from the hotel was $36.03. When I got here the other day, a cab from the airport to the hotel was $30.00. I asked the nice young lady at the front desk if she could call me a cab. She said "you're a cab." No, just kidding. She called a cab, it was there in 5 minutes and it only cost $25.00.

Doing chores this morning. Woke up at 6:00 am to a sound like a jackhammer was being used in the apartment above us. Heard it again about an hour later.

We're off to Mom's, grocery store, lunch, and a few errands.

I worked half a day today, came home to adult beverages and lots of empty boxes that need filled up.

We're having leftovers for dinner tonight. ( Mexican pulled pork and green chili gravy for smothered burritos)

When I got to the airport the departure board said my flight was delayed, by 2 minutes. Now it's back to an on time departure but the estimated arrival time back home is 4 minutes late. Oh, the horror.

When I got to the airport the departure board said my flight was delayed, by 2 minutes. Now it's back to an on time departure but the estimated arrival time back home is 4 minutes late. Oh, the horror.

I have never seen the airport as crowded as it was when I got off the plane at 7:00 tonight. On the way out they had signs in the terminal telling people if they plan on flying out on Friday, Saturday or Sunday they should be at the airport 3 hours before their flight. The main parking lot and the credit card lot (a longer walk to the terminal but $2/day cheaper) were both full and the overflow lot was open. I never saw that lot open before. I guess people are back to traveling to the beach.

We've also noticed increasing crowds on our last couple of trips. I think people are ready to get out again!

So we had a good visit today with Mom. She was in good spirits, giggled several times. Days like this make me smile so much, and sad she suffers from dementia.

After her visit, E and I went to lunch. YUM!! Candied bacon, deviled eggs, avocado toast, Buffalo chicken meatballs, and calamari.

Stopped at two grocery stores - home and did laundry. Then made dinner - tho we weren't really hungry AT ALL. Scallops, shrimp, lemony Orzo pasta. It'll be good for leftover in the week.
