Just hit the road heading back home. Darn.
I’ll go back to work tomorrow. Not sure how long I’ll last this week.
We are meeting with a financial planner on the 7th. Worried it will be worse than we are hoping for. And I’m the optimist of this marriage.

Good morning, everyone!
Productive Sunday here in rainy Michigan. I am not complaining as we had BEEE UUUUU TEEE FUL weather for Homecoming Week. It was sunny and in the 70's all week long which made for wonderful weather for Powder Puff, the parade, the game, and the dance last night. It is Sophie's Senior year so we have been busy with all the activities. Last night her group of about 12 stayed at the dance for about an hour before announcing they were bored and that they were heading to the house for an air hockey tournament....

I was chaperoning the dance so I had to stay until the end. When I got home, the kids (they are seniors but they still let me call them kids...) laughed as they said I was the one who stayed longest at Homecoming
Today has been a few chores and straightening up the basement. The kids have adopted it as their hangout which is rather cringy since
it is unfinished and full of storage, laundry space, and makeshift leftover furniture I haven't gotten rid of yet. Organized the storage mess a bit and moved it around to make more space. Contemplating getting a a ping pong table or something like that for them. Rumor has it there will be a Halloween party here.....
Anyway, enjoy Sunday, all. Safe travels, Michi and HOG. Glad to hear the reunion was enjoyable.
It's nice that they feel comfortable hanging at your house. It doesn't need to be fancy, just clean and safe. Just like That 70s Show.

Does this have anything to do with your recent Sarasota visit? Retirement planning?

Afternoon BNers
I am really guilty of closing my eyes during a commercial and waking up hours later. Opps.
Astros won last night and the last game of the regular season is getting ready to start. It has been a long season but I am hoping it contines until the end!!!

Hi there! We are laying low. i had a nap already from my late night at the ghost town. I portray a high roller at a dice game as groups follow a route through the town and take a kid from each group to gamble at dice. They win a string of beads. i tell of a dice game at another boom town where a player was down 32,000$. He wrote a check to the winner, then challenged him with another roll at double the stakes. He rolled high score and kept a fortune. This happened in the 1860's, 17 miles from me. With inflation, that check would be worth 1,280,000$ in today's money. The oil man would have to double that had he lost. That was a BIG gamble.

Isn't that the team that was could cheating? or gave away the game, or something?

Michi, you're showing your age.
(That happened in 1909.)
