Hi there! We are laying low. i had a nap already from my late night at the ghost town. I portray a high roller at a dice game as groups follow a route through the town and take a kid from each group to gamble at dice. They win a string of beads. i tell of a dice game at another boom town where a player was down 32,000$. He wrote a check to the winner, then challenged him with another roll at double the stakes. He rolled high score and kept a fortune. This happened in the 1860's, 17 miles from me. With inflation, that check would be worth 1,280,000$ in today's money. The oil man would have to double that had he lost. That was a BIG gamble.
Who won?
Samuel Wood, the guy was down the 32,ooo$. The two played for pocket through the night. The other gambler ,Colonel Brady, lost 200$(8,ooo today) and was tapped out. Samuel Wood handed him back a twenty and said, "No man should go home dead broke."

Who do the Astro's have to play in the playoffs?
Another baseball team.
Lol
White Sox
Former Pelicans outfielder Eloy Jimenez plays for the White Sox. If he ever becomes a big star I might make some money, I have his autograph.

Morning BN.
Not a cloud in the sky here & they say we'll make it up to 83°.
My dad & step mom are up from NC & stopped by for a couple of hours this morning. Always love seeing & hanging out with them!
I made a chocolate lasagna for a cookout at my cousin's house later this afternoon. Crushed Oreos & melted butter for the base, mixed cream cheese/cool whip layer, chocolate pudding layer then top with cool whip & mini chocolate chips.
Don't worry Linda, I'll eat your piece
Happy Sun y'all!
Drooling.

Just hit the road heading back home. Darn.
I’ll go back to work tomorrow. Not sure how long I’ll last this week.
We are meeting with a financial planner on the 7th. Worried it will be worse than we are hoping for. And I’m the optimist of this marriage.
Does this have anything to do with your recent Sarasota visit? Retirement planning?
We actually had it scheduled long before that but the trip certainly didn’t hurt our thought process. However, IF we retire and move it would probably not be that far south.
