Good morning. It was foggy earlier and it's raining now, I think today will be a laundry day.

I was watching the hockey game last night. One of the Hurricanes announcers played college hockey, he was a goalie, and after college he played in the minor leagues for a couple of years but he never made it to the NHL. During the game he said the way the Hurricanes goalie kicks out his leg pads when he makes a save, it reminds him of the flippers on a pinball machine. Then he said "not that I'm a pinball wizard." The other announcer said "but ever since you were a young boy you learned to play the goal."

Thanks, hard to believe I have this many trips around the sun! Going out for a steak this afternoon, after the church crowd and before the dinner crowd.

Glad I got my birthday sail completed Thursday, weather not so nice today, though I have sailed in 40 degrees and drizzle for my birthday.

Thanks, hard to believe I have this many trips around the sun! Going out for a steak this afternoon, after the church crowd and before the dinner crowd.

Glad I got my birthday sail completed Thursday, weather not so nice today, though I have sailed in 40 degrees and drizzle for my birthday.

I think of the sailors, whalers and fishermen in the days of sail during cold weather. Man, that must have brutal.

This just in.... Santa Clause has been admitted to ICU. It is believed his Diabetes Type 2, and being overweight has contributed to the delta variant he caught from kissing mommy under the mistletoe. Since Santa wears red he has denied covid is no more then catching a cold and wearing a mask is for the tooth fairy. Santa was unable to comment since he had a tube in his mouth.

I stood in line for 2 1/2 hours yesterday to get my covid booster shot. Made friends with a Hispanic family while waiting.
The elderly mother and father spoke no English. When they left I said "via con Dios" and you'd have thought I just told them
they won the lottery.

The temperature is 25 degrees cooler than it was yesterday and it's supposed to drop at least another 10 degrees overnight. I think it's safe to drink one of my Christmas beers.

Wife is still relieved of the negative test result. Celebrated by again going to the corner pub for a few beers (Props Christmas Ales), mask free, as we sat outside under the heaters. I told her that the ultimate celebration was to head home for unprotected sex. She didn't think that was funny but settled for another round of beers...

Same here. Was in the low 70's last night at this time, and is now only 57.

First Monday of the Xmas break.

Yesterday was supposed to be smoker day - but as soon as I went outside a gale blew in and stayed all day. That put the kybosh on weed spraying and smoking.

So this morning despite it being an unseasonably cold 41°F at 6AM I got out early and caught up with the weed spraying before the wind came back.

Now I have the smoker running on the verandah and just pulled out some jerk chicken for lunches during the week and am waiting on some beef short ribs - a couple more hours I reckon...
