Egg Nog THURSDAY@ the MSC

Good morning BN. I'm not a big drinker and I'm dieting, but I got a bottle for the season. Any special drinks at your place?
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good Morning & Happy Christmas Eve Eve!
I like "virgin" Egg Nog a lot, but I probably only pick up some every 3-4 years it seems.
I enjoy chocolatey flavors, so holidays often will find me sipping some Irish Cream.

no egg nog at Ringville except for the (alcohol infused) bottle we just bought for Kevin's aunt (who lives local but whose kids don't and choose not to visit her for Christmas) will be spending Christmas with us.

On Saturday we will mix up a batch of "Calamity Cove Cranberry Christmas Cheer" for the adults. A new drink for us -- will see how the votes stack up.

When we first got home from our Italy trip in October, we noticed that our upstairs furnace wasn’t working. It might be that it hadn’t worked since last winter, it only goes on when it’s pretty cold outside; heat rising from the main floor keeps it warm upstairs.
We had a repair man come (that was a two week wait) and we learned that the blower motor was out and a replacement wouldn’t be available until “some time in December.”
We replaced the furnace in the basement last year and it cost $3,400, and since it was gonna cost close to $2,100 to repair the attic furnace, we figured a new one might be the way to go.
I called a few places, and learned about the Great Furnace Shortage of 2021. One company bid $5,475, if they could get one. The company that we worked with last year wanted $6,131 for the same one they installed in the basement. One company said they’d send someone out to give me an estimate on December 8th. “Unless it’s an emergency” she said. “Well, we’re without heat” I said. “Oh, in that case, we can have someone out on December 6th.” :-? That was just for a bid, she didn’t have a clue when they might actually have a furnace.
Long story short, the part came in and the furnace was repaired yesterday and everything is warm and cozy again. And just in time:

OK, I'll fess up.

I don't even know what egg nog is. It's simply not a thing here.

It might have something to do with Christmas Day usually being over 100°F 😜

Eggnog is served cold, often with crushed or cubed ice. Eggnog, historically also known as a milk punch or an egg milk punch when alcoholic beverages are added, is a rich, chilled, sweetened, dairy-based beverage. It is traditionally made with milk, cream, sugar, whipped egg yolks, and egg whites.

Maybe you should start a new tradition? :D

Afternoon BN.
Although I like eggnog, I haven't had any in years. I would purchase nonalcoholic & add Capt Morgan.

Was out & about early this morning. Got a hair cut & then brake pads replaced on the truck. Stopped by the grocery store for dinner stuff.
2 observations: 1) there were a lot of people on the roads & in the store. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry & very impatient!! 2) grocery store has Valentine's day candy out. Waaay too early, imo.

Happy eggnog Thursday y'all!

Well Christmas is ruined. Family friends kid Rasppy takes to school tested positive. So now Rasppy and son went for lab test and also rapid. Since rapid is not reliable will have to waot for results. Therefore dont think I can make it to moms for xmas eve. Dont think result will be by tomorrow since everyone and their pet is getting tested. If they are positive then I'm screwed on my tranplant schedule. All because the kid sat next to another kid who caught of from his mom who is an anti vax idiot. Selfish people. 😤

Still hope Moog.

We went thru this last week and the wife's test came back in 24 hours. No Covid, and not pregnant. Double Bonus Points.
