Good morning peoples. The temperature is 25 degrees lower than it was yesterday afternoon and it's dropped 3 degrees since I woke up this morning. That's not a good sign.

Good Afternoon.

VERY cold and windy here but the sun is shining. Got most of my errands done yesterday since I left work early.

We've got our annual Chili/Soup Cookoff tonight. And by annual I mean year #6 minus the past 2 because of you know what.
We were to have 9 entries but 2 cancelled yesterday bc of illness (but not covid). The winner from the last 2 years is one of them so someone else may have a chance at winning the coveted GOLDEN LADLE. There's also a "you are #1" balloon and an authentic, original signed by the hosts, 1st place framed certificate

Our ice maker crapped out last week so we bought a new unit but tried to fix the original one ourselves. Daughter Bridget stopped by to drop off some things and ended up staying to help Kevin put everything back together with the original unit. We're waiting to see if it will work. If not then we will take the old one out (again) and put in the new one......when she said "I'll send you my bill" our response was "put it on your tab of 22 yrs of various expenses we paid out on your behalf"

Spending this frigid day doing laundry and cooking. Made a big batch of waffles to put in the freezer, gonna make Bryan mini Peanut butter cup cheesecakes and we're having smashed onion cheeseburgers (in paradise) for dinner. Tomorrow he wants Schnitzel. He's braving the cold to go to the grocery...I'm a lucky lady.

We are going to Wooster tomorrow to look at a freezer. My friend is taking 2 cows to butcher and we are splitting a half with the youngest daughter. And since we left them our freezer when we moved we need to get another one and new ones are sky high if you can even find one. This one is on craigslist for 75.00

I did laundry, drank coffee and did my taxes, it's been a productive day so far.

It is 20 degrees warm but we finally have sunshine. Just seeing blue skies helps us feel better.

This is a crazy week for sports fans in Las Vegas. There was a college football all-star game Thursday night, the NHL all-star game is today and the NFL Pro Bowl is tomorrow. I was thinking about going out there for the NHL game but hotel rates were ridiculously high.

Aloha, peeps. Cold and blustery as ever, currently 11 degrees out there.

Bored after chores this morning so we took a drive for lunch and hit up a new pubby tavern that opened out near the highway last year. Glad we did. Food and service were great and it had a very 'neighborhood dive bar' vibe that we liked.

Wish I was on Ft Myers beach, I'm sure it's much warmer there. Where are you staying?

I was watching the NHL All-Star game. I feel sorry for the goalies, there is absolutely no defense played in the game.

The NHL announced the next Winter Classic will be in Fenway Park Jan. 1, 2023. The Carolina Hurricanes will host next year's Stadium Series game, but I didn't catch the date. It's going to be in North Carolina State University's football stadium. I might try to get a ticket, Raleigh is about a 3 1/2 hour drive.

It topped 80 again today. I can't complain.

We're just off San Carlos and Summerlin at the Hampton.

I feel sorry for the goalies, there is absolutely no defense played in the game.

It is an honor to be selected, but it is definitely no vacation for the goaltenders.

Froze my noogies off here today. But then wife had me do some remodeling in her closet, and I broke a sweat. As long as I was working, she was pouring, so it all was good.
