Good morning BN. I'm off to the gym, then some drawing after lunch.

Good morning Bill, and BN!
More snow overnight, and 1 degree when we got up. I think it's up to 8 now. Snow still powdery, but roads weren't in great shape, so people were driving 10-20 mph.
And the heat is still not working in my building. 62 inside. Brrrr..

Good morning. The fog was so thick when I woke up this morning, I could hardly see the houses across the street when I looked out back. It's clear now and it's 70 degrees, headed for 77 according to the weather guessers.
I have $20 in my rewards account at Old Chicago so I think I'll go have some pizza and beer for lunch.

I just checked the new dates and I saw Merriwether Post in Maryland. According to the setlist database, he hasn't played there since 2003. And he's going back to Bangor.

I like your weather better than ours. I think we should all join you.

I was happily surprised to see Merriwether. I saw KC there many years ago. I liked the venue & tailgate so I have it on my possible list.
I liked Bangor too. Venue was right beside a river but there was no parking lot for tailgating. We parked in a parking garage & some were set up there but not your traditional tailgate.

Old lady was running real late for Church on Sunday, so she hurried to get dressed and ran down the street to church. On the way there, she ran into an elderly gentleman walking in the opposite direction. She asked, βIs Mass out?β. He replied, βNo, but your hat is a tad crookedβ.

We may be in for Merriwether -- that would be a new JB venue for us and only 1.5 hours away. But a Tuesday.....

This was an interesting day. I went to Old Chicago and the parking lot was packed so I just kept going. I had a couple of errands to run so I got them out of the way earlier than I expected. I went back to Old Chicago about an hour later and the parking lot was practically empty. The bartender told me they got slammed right after they opened at 11:00 and weren't prepared for it, besides him they only had 1 server and 2 cooks. The rush was over when I was there. Then when I got my check my meal and the one beer I had were free because of the $20 I had in my rewards account. I stopped for gas on the way home and the station I usually go to had plastic bags over almost all the pump handles, no gas. I found one that was open, swiped my credit card and started pumping. I got $0.17 worth of gas before the pump stopped. I went to another station about a mile away and was able to fill the tank but it was $0.30/gallon more expensive than the last time I got gas 2 weeks ago.

I was looking at Merriwether or Bangor. They would both be new venues, and new states, for Buffett concerts for me. I can't remember the last time I was in Maryland, except driving through it, and I haven't been in Maine since I went to the New England Parrothead Convention in 2009. I was laid off from my job 2 days after I got back.

The advantage for Merriwether is I can drive there. Bangor is more than 1,000 miles, that's a plane ride or a 2 day drive.

All the show chatter offsets the looming snow storm.
We're in the one-foot range. Don't even care, everything thawed so much last week it will be gone soon anyway.
Happy Friday Eve, y'all.

I was up early. Went to get a blood draw for my iron/B12 levels. Then I had a mammogram. Got a call from the lab and they said my nurse practitioner said I wasn't supposed to have any blood work done? Ok like I just totally pulled that outta my a$$ and had it on my calendar for 1 month since the last check.... so whatever! Got back to my little town and stopped by Rite Aid for a shingles vaccine and my Covid booster. Went to the grocery and picked up a few things (several things I wanted were not available) and was back home by 1:00. I made a new recipe for Hawaiian Banana Bread (a day late) and Tacos for dinner.
Took some Tylenol (to ward off any aches and pains from the vaccines) and I'm having a margarita!
We're supposed to be getting some ice and snow overnight, so there's a chance we might not be going to work tomorrow.
I got a call that my mammogram was "normal" so I told her that I was told to get a follow up blood test. She called back to say that I was mistaken and the nurse practitioner was refusing to do the test. We've been thinking about switching to a local doctor for our PCP and I pulled the trigger after the Sh!t show today so I have an appointment in about a month.

And the moral to the story is to sit and have more beer, rather than getting fuel.

There's a hockey game on ESPN at 7:00. The NY Rangers, the team of my youth (I was a junior in college the year the Islanders joined the NHL as an expansion team), are playing. I only had one beer with my lunch so I'll have another when the game starts.
