the courthouse is filled with Fachnachts.......not to be confused with Crazies.
What the heck is a FAchnachts?
This should help explain it.
A fastnacht is a heavy, yeast-raised potato donut that is typically prepared on Fat Tuesday before the start of the Lenten season. These types of donuts are part of Easter traditions in Pennsylvania Dutch country, which includes Lancaster, York, and Berks counties in south-central Pennsylvania.
Traditional fastnachts are shaped into squares or triangles, but it's also common to see round fastnachts at this time of year. Similar to a Polish paczki, fastnachts have no hole in the center and are usually larger than other donuts. Square-shaped fastnachts are meant to represent the four gospels of the Bible, whereas a triangular fastnacht represents the Holy Trinity.

It's been many years since I had White Castle and I would be very happy if I never ate another one.
We call them Belly Bombers.

We probably only have them 3-4 times a year.

And they are a very “heavy” pastry. As in if I eat one I probably shouldn’t eat anything else the rest of the day. But….. that didn’t work.
