I would love to hear that too. The first cover I heard of it was Ben Taylor on Bye Bye Love soundtrack. It was so NICE.
Alison Krauss also does a cover of it. (And Alison does a song with Ben's father...so many connections.)

I haven't read back so maybe someone's already put this. I'd love to hear Jimmy do all of Hank Williams' "Jambala". I heard him do it once on RM at a concert, and I was like, "OMG, he's doing it!!" Sometimes after he sings "Life is Just a Tire Swing", he sings a part of it, but I wish he'd do the whole thing.
"Jambalay an'a crawfish pie, an'a fil-lay gumbo..... "

I've always wondered why Jimmy doesn't do Vahevala. It's an old (sailing) tune from the 70s by Loggina and Messina.

I have to agree with Jambalaya as a great potential JB cover. It has to do with food from down south. Seems logical to me.
Another one I'd like to hear is "Sloop John B". Sailing, drinking, etc. etc.

I really don't care if he sang "Jimmy crack corn". As long as the Reefers back him up and get to hear it live!!

Recommended this a while back. Would still like to hear a version by Jimmy as a closer.
Listen To The Music
Tom Johnston - Doobie Brothers
Don't you feel it growin', day by day
People gettin' ready for the news
Some are happy, some are sad
Oh, we got to let the music play
What the people need
Is a way to make 'em smile
It ain't so hard to do if you know how
Gotta get a message
Get it on through
Oh, now mama's go'n' to after 'while
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
All the time
Well I know, you know better
Everything I say
Meet me in the country for a day
We'll be happy
And we'll dance
Oh, we're gonna dance our blues away
And if I'm feelin' good to you
And you're feelin' good to me
There ain't nothin' we can't do or say
Feelin' good, feeling fine
Oh, baby, let the music play
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
All the time
Like a lazy flowing river
Surrounding castles in the sky
And the crowd is growing bigger
List'nin' for the happy sounds
And I got to let them fly
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
All the time

I always thought that this should be a campaign song for the underdog candidate

. Still a damn good song though!
