Survived WAR at the Taco's & Tequila event Saturday at the Casino up the road. The Band really cooked. Still have the Cisco Kid song running through my head. A few tasty tacos & burritos along with some good tequila samples. Fiance' won $100 at the casino prior to the event, phriends cashed in for nearly $400. As usual I didn't win anything (can't win if you don't play)......but I didn't lose anything either (can't lose if you don't play.)

Good morning.

The quarterly HOA meeting is today so I'm just relaxing until it's time to leave. There's rain in the forecast again so I have nothing else planned, except maybe making a trip to Total Wine to replenish my beer supply. The last time I was there they had 5 beers from a Mexican brewery I never heard of. I wanted to try one, or more, of them but they didn't have any in the mix and match section so I couldn't buy any singles. Although the name of the brewer is Agua Mala and if I remember my high school Spanish that means Bad Water so maybe I shouldn't try any of them.

Big difference in weather. It is gorgeous out. Still wish for the majority to be quarantined. Have no use for large groups of people.

Glorious sunny spring day, working and lurking from the deck. Nice short week - Thursday looks dead and the deciders gave us Friday and next Monday for Memorial Day.

The HOA has an insurance policy on the 11 buildings in our part of the development. At the meeting today the board member who handles the financial stuff said the insurance premium this year was $73,000. The insurance company gave him a quote for next year - $208,000 for the same coverage.

He gave his 2 weeks notice today and will start his new job as a claims specialist for State Farm. The best part is he gets to work from home! His current commute is about 90 minutes.

Is the roller rink just a temporary thing for a few weeks or will it be there until they put the ice rink back up in November (or whenever they put it up)? When I worked in 30 Rock they always used to have an outdoor bar and restaurant in place of the skating rink for the spring and summer.

The Asheville Tourists minor league baseball team is an Astros team. They're going to wear jerseys that say ASHETROS in one of their games this year.
