Good morning BN. I like this month, what with Groundhog's Day, Valentine's Day and President's Day, plus it's short. Tour dates are often announced too.

Good morning. It's 65 degrees but the temperature is supposed to drop into the low-mid 50s by this afternoon.

The Hurricanes played the L.A. Kings last night. When they were saying who the goalies were before the game started, they showed a close up of L.A.'s goalie. His mask was painted in the team colors, silver and black, and it had the Kings logo on each side. On the front of the mask, right near the bottom, there were 2 candy canes painted on it. He's from Alaska and the name of his hometown is North Pole. I wonder if any of his neighbors were Santa's elves.

North Pole is a suburb of Fairbanks, about 10 miles southeast of town and 1,700 miles away from the top of the earth. When we were on our Northern Lights trip a couple of years ago, we were driving around Fairbanks and saw a directional sign for it so we went ahead at drove that way. They have "the World’s Largest Santa Claus Statue" (42') and "Santa Claus House" that sells all sorts of Christmas/Santa related kitschy stuff. The rest of the town is McDonald's and Safeway and all the other stuff you see driving through any small town.

Hockey note: the Seattle Kraken are sitting atop the Pacific Division at the All-Star Break. There's half a season left to play, but they're doing pretty well!

Good morning/Afternoon all. :)

Not much to report today. It was 20 degrees (but no hockey game on) when I drove to work. Only wore my fleece jacket, instead of the huge Winter coat, and it felt practically balmy compared to this past week.

Otherwise, I'm just looking forward to the weekend. Lots of good things planned starting tomorrow. :D

Afternoon BNers

It is raining/drizzling in the area and it is 35 degrees. So glad it isn't colder because it would be ice!! It is icy in the county but farther north.

Again, I am going to stay home with my blanket!🥴

Everyone stay warm!!❤️

Monthly Wild Women of Wine Wednesday at a local wine shop (they are from Lancaster but have a vineyard in Thorn Hill CA. A core group of 6 ladies have been going to this event for about 5 years now. It's always a fun time :).

Amazes me how quickly the Golden Knights & now the Kraken have been able to be a force in the NHL. :o Still waiting for my Red Wings to right the ship once again :-?

Hi there! My PC format for photo posting has changed. I haven't solved photo size reduction to post new pics. I tried one method that ended up with a new screen saver. [smilie=asa.gif]
