Happy Easter

Yesterday I made a Coffeecake for breakfast today, deviled eggs, a chocolate peanut butter Pie and a lemon cheesecake pie for dinner today. All I have to do today is put the ham in the crockpot and make the fresh green beans. Middle daughter is making a cheesy scalloped potato recipe and youngest daughter is making the rolls.

This is probably the last time we're going to see the middle daughter as she is heading to Colorado for her next new travel nursing gig on Thursday.

our Easter gathering will be a few members short today (our tally is usually 13 but today we are down to 8 ). 2 of us (Kevin's sister and Austin's mommy) are in the medical profession and will be working. That also means Kelly's 2 kids and 1 significant other will be missing. I got styrofoam air planes at the Dollar Tree for Austin & Eli to fly in the storm water basin (it's empty) behind our house.

Good morning. We're starting another day at 49 degrees like we did yesterday. It rained just about all day yesterday and it was raining when I woke up this morning. It's supposed to stop sometime.

Quinnipiac won the NCAA hockey championship last night so the Hurricanes coach's son has a championship. Maybe the Hurricanes can win the Stanley Cup so they'll both have championship seasons.

I would pass on anything with peanut butter but I love lemon flavored things. Probably because they go so well with my sour personality.

The peanut butter pie was requested by Bryan and I love any lemon dessert.

Hobie Landrith, the first player in the history of the NY Mets franchise, died. He was 93. He was the Mets first round pick in the expansion draft and was the catcher in their opening day game in 1962. That first season they had the worst record in the history of major league baseball, 40-120. I'm pretty sure no other team has been that bad in the 60 years since then. And I've been a Mets fan since that first season. Of course I was only 10 years old back then. I wonder what my excuse is now.

Nothing special planned here. Ryan
opened his Easter Basket...yes, he still gets one. One thing he got was a 6 foot blanket that looked like a pepperoni pizza! He grabbed it and put it on his bed.

Later we will have Cajun turkey, scalloped potatoes, fried okra, rolls and deviled eggs.

Nothing special going on here. Nothing Easter'ish, except the ham I'm making. Doing a bunch of laundry, changed the bedding from flannel sheets to the regular ones.

And catching up on just some resting.

Dinner was delicious!! I contributed deviled eggs but Ryan did all the rest. I love that he has taken over the kitchen.

No sun today, but no rain either, so I guess be thankful for what we get.
