Lost Sock TUESDAY @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning!

Today is NATIONAL LOST SOCK MEMORIAL DAY

May 9th recognizes a fun and unique holiday, National Lost Sock Memorial Day. It is time to say “good-bye” to all of the single socks, the ones where their mates have been lost to the unknown. Where do all the missing socks go? Is there a washing machine heaven? This is a question people have been trying to solve for many centuries. An answer may never be found to this problem, and life will go on. How sad to have lost such a close-knit friend!

Of course, since before the dawn of Tupperware, inventors have attempted the prevention of such separation anxiety. Alas, if they had succeeded, mismatched socks wouldn’t be popular today. And, we there wouldn’t be pausing to remember them every May 9th.

Now I'm curious how many "singles" we've got at Ringville :D

Good morning, Linda. I found 2 singles Sunday. They are both expensive winter socks, so I hopeful the others are still here.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Linda and Bill and BN!!

We felt a small earthquake last night. 4.6 happened in Nicaragua. The first I've ever felt.

Today is the same as yesterday, just no trip to the beach. Too rocky and sand was so hot. 🔥 we can just stick by all of the pool areas.

Sunscreen applied properly, so minimal burning.

Off to the breakfast buffet (Not Buffett) soon. 😄

And no missing socks. Although one did fall off to the left of the dryer, and I did recently find it after several months. (Tight enclosed space).

Good Morning Gang!
I would anticipate the Lost socks are out looking for the lost shakers of salt  But indeed, one of life's frustrating little mysteries.....
Looks like Miss Sun is back for the rest of the week here in lovely Flint Michigan. Temps a verrrry pleasant 70-80 over the next 4 days. YES!!

Enjoy Hump Day Eve everyone!

Good morning. I don't think I've ever lost a sock

When I had my last post-op appointment after the cataract surgery last year, the doctor told me to go for my normal eye exam in 6 months. My appointment is this morning, first one of the day when the office opens at 10:00. Unfortunately, the doctor is at LensCrafters so I have to go to the mall. I also have a coupon for free sunglass lenses with the purchase of a pair of frames. My sunglasses are 3 years old with the prescription from before the cataract surgery so I'll be getting new ones today. 🕶️

Today is my only day off this week since we are gearing up for the hell that is Mother's Day. We also have a large United Way event on Friday and the last of the high school proms this Saturday.

I couldn't figure out why my lower back, butt and thighs were SO sore yesterday and then I realized that when I was at the cemetery on Sunday I was crouched down the whole time, pulling weeds and doing silk flower arrangements in the bases for my brother and Mom. I'm really stiff and sore.

I got my nails done today and now I need to get busy in the kitchen. We bought croissants at Costco and I'm going to make egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches and stick them in the freezer. I also want to make a jalapeno cheddar cheese ball to take to the shop for snacking on this week. I might even make some pudding shots!

The basement is coming along nicely, today the drywall guy is here and is applying the mud.

All the employees at the eye doctor's side of LensCrafters were wearing scrubs. Except the guy at the front desk who was wearing khakis and a hooded sweatshirt, in 85 degree weather. And he had absolutely no customer service skills.

After my eye exam, I went to the LensCrafters side of the store to pick out a pair of frames for my new sunglasses. All the employees on that side of the store were women and every one of them was dressed completely in black. I'm wearing a turquoise polo shirt and 2 of the women said they liked my shirt, the color looked good on me. I resisted the urge to tell them everything looks good on me.

I picked out a pair of Ray-Ban frames and got my free lenses, that would have cost $382 if I had to pay for them. I love free stuff. 8)

Afternoon BNers

Ryan and were going to do some shopping but when the alarm went off, it was storming. I don't mean raining but shaking the walls type thunder!🌫😳 It is suppose to do this about all week. It finally quit raining but only 68 degrees.

Astros lost to Angels last night. Hoping when our guys get off IR, things will change?

Yesterday, before we met Anne's friend a truckstop, we hit he restrooms. I had to use the men's room a second time. Walking in I saw no urinals on the left wall, just a row of toilet stalls with extra wash basins. OOPS! Wrong room!

I need to pay more attention .
