Cherry Cobbler & National Linda WED @ the MSC

Hello All!

Here's your I don't really care trivia for today :)

May 17th each year dedicates the celebration of National Cherry Cobbler Day to the delicious tart dessert that many enjoy with ice cream. Many believe the early American Colonies are where this recipe began born out of a lack of proper cooking utensils.
In the United States, cobbler refers to a variety of dishes consisting of a fruit filling (cherry being a popular choice ) covered with a batter, biscuit, or pie crust that is then baked. Some cobblers have both a top and bottom crust.

Good Morning Bill & Linda.
I don't care for Cherry Cobbler. [smilie=thumbdown.gif]

P.S......Appears to be another case of a RETIREE (semi anyway) losing track of what day it is

National Linda Day WEDNESDAY @ the MSC

So our resident Linda took a left instead of a right & jumped the gun on which day of the week it is today.
In her honor I started a "proper" day thread. My fiance's proper name is Linda but she goes by Lynn. [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]

Pick & choose today's thread as you will kiddies.

National Linda Day is celebrated on May 17 every year. It is a day to celebrate everyone named Linda. It is predominantly a female name and is of German origin and stems from the word ‘Linde’ — but has become associated with the German word ‘Lind,’ which means ‘soft’ or ‘tender.’

Good morning. I like cherries but I don't like them in anything - cobbler, pie, or anything else. Just give me some plain cherries.

When I went for my eye exam last week, the personality challenged guy at the front desk was having trouble with the credit card reader. He ran my card 3 or 4 times and got an error message each time. The problem was with the reader, not my card. He asked me if he could take my credit card number so he could try again later and I told him he could. I got my credit card statement in the mail yesterday and there's no charge for the eye doctor. The closing date of the statement was 2 days after I was there so the charge should be on the statement. I have a couple of errands to run today so I'll add another one to the list, go to LensCrafters and let them know I haven't been charged for my eye exam.

She’s been doing that lately. Her brain is turning to mush in retirement.

AND THANK YOU FOR HONORING ME, the absent-minded part-time retiree :)

And yes, I love cherries. My favorite thing growing up was cherry pie for breakfast. My Mother was a stickler foe oatmeal for breakfast on school days...ugh. But I could occasionally get cherry pie on the weekends. 🍒 🥧

Doing a happy dance cause they got someone else to cover the front desk today and tomorrow! YAY!!! :D :D

Busy day again, tho. Nuttin' much else going on.

And I love cherries. In things or just eating them by themselves. :D

And I love Linda - even if she doesn't know what day it is.

I had an appointment to donate platelets at the Red Cross this morning so I stopped at the mall on the way and went to LensCrafters. There was a nice young lady at the front desk today and I explained what happened with the credit card reader and told her the charge hadn't shown up on my credit card statement. I even went online this morning and there aren't any new transactions on the account since the statement closing date. I told her I liked free things but I've been coming there for my annual eye exam for 10 years and I always had to pay before. She pulled up my records and said "there aren't any open bills, you're good". When I got home I checked the Medicare handbook, eye exams still aren't covered. I tried to pay, I can't do anything else. Oh well.

It was beautiful out all day, until just a few minutes ago. It's freakin' pouring now, some rumbles of thunder too

Got to medical center and home safely. So glad Ryan is a good driver. ❤️
Dr said everything is going good with my eye. Vision isn't the best, but it is hanging in there
Wish the left eye was so lucky.

And now the sun's out again. Maybe I'll pop open a beer and see what the next 1/2 hour brings us.
