Good Morning!

NATIONAL DOUGHNUT (DONUT) DAY
Each year on the first Friday in June, people participate in National Doughnut or Donut Day, celebrating the doughnut and honoring the Salvation Army Lassies. The Salvation Army Lassies are the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during WWI.

In 1917, the original “Salvation Army Doughnut” was first served by the ladies of the Salvation Army. It was during WWI that the Salvation Army Lassies went to the front lines of Europe. Home-cooked foods, provided by these brave volunteers, were a morale boost to the troops.

The doughnuts were often cooked in oil inside the metal helmets of American soldiers. American infantrymen were then commonly called “doughboys.” A more standard spelling of the word is “donut.”

My Favorite is glazed - Im a simple kinda gal.

How about you?

Good Morning Linda! BN'ers in the on deck circle & dugout.
First weekend in June....& summer is definitely in the air here! Weekend full of Mid 80's+. Awesome!
New work project landed on my desk yesterday....much to my chagrin. Looks like any vacay days here in June will be going by the wayside :-?
I do have 3 concerts coming up this month so I've got that to look forward to 8)
Enjoy your Friday gang & have a Donut for me. Donuts are worse than Lays potato chips for me, can NEVER have just ONE

Good morning. I like donuts, jelly is probably my favorite. I haven't been to Krispy Kreme in several years but they used to have a lemon filled that I really liked.

That made me chuckle this morning.

I love donuts - kinda boring kinds - raised glazed or with chocolate glaze. :) Co-worker was gonna bring some in, but it's too crowded.

Ready for the day to be over. Next week is gonna be a zoo. 5 new people starting AND our new CEO is arriving, too. :o

I was expecting a delivery from FedEx, when I checked the tracking number my delivery window was 11:40-3:40. Mr. FedEx was here at 11:25. FedEx and UPS are never early. :o

Morning BNers

Tropical system 2 is heading toward Cuba. Hope everyone will be safe in that area.

I loved flying over Cuba on our way to Jamaica. I have a few pics from the air.

On deck? Guess that could be me. Astros are playing again today...part of the 17 games in 17 days. 🙃 Announcers were complaining about working yesterday. They had been off on Thursday in April and May. 🧡⚾️💙

Donuts? I haven't had one in ages but do love a glazed Krispy Kreme. Dunkin Donuts used to have a delicious apricot filled that I loved in college.🍩

I'm going to take a ride to the Beer Den, not the one at my local supermarket, one of the other locations. They have a beer from Brazil on tap. Nothing fancy, just a lager, but I'm going to give it a try. I've had 2 other beers from Brazil, one I liked but the other one wasn't very good. Those were both from the same brewer, the one at the Beer Den is a different brewer.

Hi there! I used to eat donuts, but not so much now. My fishing buddy takes a back road to meet me. During his 20 mile drive, he saw 14 deer and a turkey.

I got to the Beer Den and they didn't have the Brazilian beer, either it's tapped out or they swapped it for something else. I'm having a South Carolina beer called Law Dog Lager instead.

Hail threat just issued for our area. It's really windy now and getting dark. I think there are 10 rain drops on my car :(. We had the driest May since 1888-- not a typo 1888

Not so dry here, we had almost 4 inches of rain last weekend.

Just had a drizzle, pea sized hail, marble sized hail, then a torrential downpour!!

Bummer, but how was the lager?

I liked it. The brewer is called Legal Remedy and all their beers have some kind of legal related term in the name.
