Yes it's nice to listen to Jimmy all the time, but that isn't why he developed the channel, he wanted listeners to listen to the music he enjoyed and give airplay to artists that may not get any or much. I wouldn't mind them playing more Jimmy in the mix.

I understand. Yet, I think most of us gravitate there for him. I’m thankful he’s lead me to other artists, but I love the fact over the last month I know what I’m getting every time when I turn on RM, him. They’ve played more deep tracks than before, and each time an old lyric hits different than it ever did before.

While I do LOVE hearing all those deep tracks now on RM... I just HATE the reason why they are there.Finnsaremorefun wrote: September 23, 2023 8:06 pm I understand. I hope they don't go all Jimmy, all the time. Let me use a food analogy to explain why I feel that way. I like chicken. I don't eat it at every meal. Life would get pretty boring with no variety.

I have really enjoyed the station but I am missing some of the other artists. I have enjoyed the Key West shows but ready to hear some of the other older concerts. Such a backlog of good music.

Re: A message to Radio Margaritaville
Agreed. I've been listening to Jimmy pretty much constantly since the Tuesday after he passed (too busy to listen to anything until I got through my own Labor Day weekend shows). But after a few days, I've pulled in some other artists here and there. Still heavy Jimmy for me, but some other stuff, too.LIPH wrote: September 25, 2023 2:37 pm I hope they don't go all Jimmy, all the time. Let me use a food analogy to explain why I feel that way. I hope when the formatting changes that they do more Jimmy. It's been great to hear to deeper tracks like "Brand New Country Star", "Desdamona's Building a Rocketship" and "Come to the Moon" get play. I also have have been appreciating the real mixture of concert replays from very distinct eras of Buffettology,

I agree also. But I hope that when they return to "original" programming, they keep the deeper tracks in rotation.

Which is why I am OK with going back... I just hope I don't get to listen to 5:00 Somewhere, M-ville & WDWGDAS 7 times a day again.Touch O Parrotdise wrote: September 27, 2023 1:35 pm Found so many other great artists and songs because of the old format..![]()

Re: A message to Radio Margaritaville
I think a bigger deal is that the DJs have all seemed to pick up the habit of talking a lot more over the start of the song than they used to. Intro it and get the hell out of the way.

On my drive home from work today, I heard 3 songs other than Jimmy... looks like they're slowly going back.

And I don’t go to a steakhouse to order a hot dog. The 24/7 Jimmy this month has been nice- 30+ albums & hundreds(?) of concerts provides a lot of materialLIPH wrote: September 25, 2023 2:37 pm I hope they don't go all Jimmy, all the time.
