Oktoberfest Saturday @ the MSC
Good morning all!
Today we're heading to our favorite brewery for Oktoberfest! The owner actually texted me this week and asked if E and I were going to be there, cause we haven't visited in a long time.
Heading to the grocery store in a little bit for a few things, then breakfast, OSU football, then the brewery.
Have a wonderful Saturday!!

We will miss our Leiderkranz (German Club) "fests". They were always a boat load of fun with good food, music & fellowship.SMLCHNG wrote: ↑September 14, 2024 9:14 am Good morning all!

Good Morning BN:
My cold has progressed to a horrible "3-pack a day smoker" cough. I'm glad it's somewhat ugly weather since I don't feel like leaving the house.
Kevin upgraded both of our iPads so I need to start doing whatever I need to do on mine.
Our Community Happy Hour at the local Ale House co-owned by one of our homeowners was crazy ....in a good way....so many more folks that than the 1st one in June. We got to meet quite a few more people (won't remember any of their names) and will hopefully continue to form new friendships.
I'm hosting a ladies Coffee Gathering at our house on 9/28....trying to track down the ladies I met on Thursday night . Gotta love FB for stuff like this.

Hi there! The YMCA asked me to paint some windows for Homecoming with a theme of classic movir=es prior to 2000. We decided on sports movies. I started with Rocky, then painted The Blind Side. A day later I was told that was in 2009. Rats! Today, I washed itoff and painted the movie poster for RUDY.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good afternoon.
I was going to go to the park for a walk but when I got there, the parking lot was packed. There's a munchkin soccer tournament. I kept driving and went somewhere else. At least I got my walk in before the rain started.

We went grocery shopping and went to Renys, then we drove to the cottage and unloaded everything, got the lay of the land our view is of gorgeous Flanders Bay and now it's time for a cocktail. Not sure where we'll end up for dinner tonight but who cares!

Great choice for Rudy, just sorry you had to start all over.bodypainter wrote: ↑September 14, 2024 12:43 pm Hi there! So we got to the brewery around Noon - and left nearly 4:00. https://lonetreebrewingco.com/ Not exactly the time we thought we'd spend there. Oh, what a GREAT time!! Met two new people who were friends of the owner (John), hung out with John, then his wife Sandi (we love BOTH of them), and Jerry (and wife Katie) who is the head brewer, and part owner. We drank, laughed, told stories, and ended up having the best time! There was also a 'market' there, with people selling goodies. One was our friend Jake, who sells great soaps and stuff. https://www.tworavenssoap.com/ I got another tye-dye shirt from a guy who's been there several times. https://www.facebook.com/TubularTimsTiedyes/
We laughed SO much, it was GREAT therapy over the last few weeks of work and life stuff.
Best thing I drank was a "bloody beer". Tomato juice with bloody Mary mix, mixed with a Mexican lager. Like a carbonated Bloody Mary. YUM.
E's got beef/buffalo brats on our electric grill, and we'll be finally eating soon. Glad we had a decent breakfast before the brewery.

Re: Oktoberfest Saturday @ the MSC
I try to. Sometimes when it's raining or really hot in the summer I'll go to the mall instead of the park. When we get a lot of rain, like last month with Tropical Storm Debby, I stay home. It's not worth driving to the mall in weather like that.

So let me understand this timeline... Heading to the grocery store in a little bit for a few things, then breakfast, OSU football, then the brewery. You did all that BEFORE noon?! Definitely not a retiree's schedule... you will have some adjusting to do when the day gets here!SMLCHNG wrote: ↑September 14, 2024 7:21 pm So we got to the brewery around Noon - and left nearly 4:00. https://lonetreebrewingco.com/ Not exactly the time we thought we'd spend there. I am not sure "Yum! would be my description. I like Bloody Marys, and I like most beers (just not IPAs) but the thought of them in the same glass... um,.. that sounds like a hard NO!

Yep, we did ALL that. I'm sure things will change, but not yet.Caribbean Soul wrote: ↑September 14, 2024 8:20 pm So let me understand this timeline... And truly - it tastes GREAT. Like I said, it's like a carbonated bloody Mary. The beer was a Mexican beer, no hops included.
