THURSDAY @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good morning BN!

We made it to PA mid afternoon yesterday. Dropped off our stuff at daughter Bridget’s, had a home cooked meal of chicken parm and then headed out to see the young couple we met through this board about 14 yrs ago. It was great catching up with them.

Today we will driving here and there meeting up with friends all over the place.

The rain and high winds are gone in PA. Our ring camera showed all my potted plants on our front porch blew over. Myrtle beach had 50 mph winds yesterday 😳

Good morning Linda and BN! :)

Glad you made it safely. Enjoy the visits and such.

Quiet so far this morning. Although I have to cover the front desk from Noon-3:00. AND she's going on Family leave for a month starting the 17th, so I'm gonna be stuck there too, unless they find someone to replace her temporarily.

Tonight is E's company Christmas party at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Looking forward to it. :D

Off to get stuff done.

Good morning Linda and Penny. It was 34 degrees when I woke up this morning but at least the wind died down.

The roofers are back, it isn't as noisy as it was Tuesday. They did 3 buildings last week, including working Saturday, so 2 days per building. I hope they're working at the same pace this week because that means they'll be done with my building today.

It's silent, the roofers must be out to lunch. I have a couple of things to do so I can get outside and not have to worry about getting hit with flying debris.

Good afternoon gang!
Wind chill just jumped above zero a couple hours ago after being -7 when I first woke up at 5 am. Winds continue to die down so the temps in the teens will actually FEEL like the teens instead of single digits.

Got online this morning & purchased tix for Toto, Christopher Cross & Men at Work. Was on the fence about it but phriends wanted to go so went ahead & pulled the trigger as well. Caught a Toto show just a few years ago & they rock it bigtime. Saw Christopher Cross with Fleetwood Mac back during the TUSK tour in 1980. Well, we caught the last song of his set anyway. Went with some buds to the show & we got pulled over on the way....was verrrry fortunate to make the show IMO. This triple header will provide a nice selection of hit songs. Hoping the bang is worth the buck [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]

Indeed! Toto ain't the same without Jeff Porcaro, but Steve Lukather still rocks.
The last musician we saw before COVID was Colin Hay, in a small intimate setting, and he was so good.
He was actually the last performer we saw until we saw Mac earlier this year.

Hi there! Anne often meets with senior aged women at MacDonalds. I asked a former staff member of mine how she was doing. She said," Great, for the shape I'm in."
I snapped back, "Well, the shape looks like an old lady, sou nailed it!"

She was not happy, but one woman was dying with laughter.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

So I go out to do my couple of things that had to be done. I'm stopped at a red light less than a mile from home and a woman gets out of the car behind me, comes running up to my car and knocks on my window. I rolled the window down and she said I hit her car when I was backing out of my parking spot. I said no I didn't. She said I backed into her door. Again, I said no I didn't. The light turned green and I went on my way and left her standing there. When I got to my first destination, I got out of my car and walked all around it. If I had hit another car there would be a dent, or at least some marks, at the point of impact. Not a scratch on my car. Oh well.

When I was done with my errands I went to a new place for lunch, Full Belly BBQ. I have a full belly. I had a brisket sandwich. The girl behind the counter, very cute and very efficient, had to go in the back and get a new brisket. She came back out with a big hunk of meat wrapped in foil. She unwrapped it and put it on the cutting board. I said the first thing that came to my mind, "that looks delicious". It was. My side of cole slaw was ok but it was a little too vinegary.

Geez, Larry. That's just crazy - how does she think you hit her car?? Sounds like a scam to me.

And glad you found a tasty place for lunch! :)

Busy day. Running here and there. Got a visit in with mom. So sad. We can’t converse…..she just repeats 3 sentences. 😢. We watched Deal or no Deal.

YIKES! I hope she does not report you by plate number! :o
It may be hard for you to prove you didn't buff-out and scratches on your car as soon as you got home!
But seriously... if you hit her door how would you have been able to continue to exit the parking spot, she would have been right behind you!
Honestly... I think she just wanted your phone number!

I'm sorry, Linda. I understand SO MUCH. The thing we had the most 'success' with, was we just all talked amongst ourselves, and she just chimed in whenever she felt like saying anything.

Good late evening. Tonight was E's company Christmas party at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The lights were amazing. I got a few pictures, but not as good as the one below. The place is awesome in Summer, but there's less insects flying around in Winter. ;)

The party was nice - food, beverages, music, and a nice chance to visit with people he works with that I like a lot. (and several we aren't fond of)
