Great Heart, Prince of Tides and FSOTW. I heard Far Side the first time he played it live in Camden last summer. While I was excited to hear something new, it was late, the crowd wasn't into it, and I really didn't appreciate the lyrics or the music. Once I heard the studio version I liked it a lot more, and when I heard it live again this summer it was awesome.

Jamaica Mistaica, it's probably still my least favorite Buffett song.

Believe it or not the whole FSOW CD took awhile to grow on me.
Must admit its still not one of my fav. cds. Its just not as upbeat as I guess I've grown to associate with Buffett.
I still have yet to replace the CD. It somehow got 'mysteriously' broken when left at my brothers house. :x

The whole Floridays album took years to grow on me. had it on cassette listened to it a few times and that was that. Picked it up on CD a few years ago and now it's one of my top 3 JB CD's. Have no idea what I didn't hear the first few times but I'm glad I gave it another try. Now I feel the same way about the Banana Wind CD, Probably have not listened to it 3 years. School Boy Heart is the only song that I listen to off of it and I burned a copy of it on my homemade greatest hits CD so I wouldn't have to listen to the rest.

I feel like a trader, I still, as much as I have tried, cannot even make myself like USS Zydecoldsmobile. I have so tried. I just can't do it!!! The rest of FSOTW I actually enjoy greatly. I can tolerate Elvis Imitators but, not USS.

I'm still working on Beyond The End.... Where did that one come from anyway???

And I generally avoid most of the SYKBH tunes, not because they're not great, but because I want newbies around me to hear more than those.

Beyond the End is a great tune! You know that Roy Orbison is singing back up.

Banana Winds and Beach house really took a lot of playing to grow on me!

Now, as much as I love SYKBH, I look forward to the "not as popular" stuff. Banana Winds is now one of my favs. Most of the songs off Riddles in the sand are gems as well!! :D

For me it was the enire Off To See The Lizard CD, and Hot Water. I'm glad I started liking them both. They are two of my favorites now.

The whole Barometer Soup CD had to grow on me.

After listening to it the first time, I was a bit disappointed. But after further listenings, I began to appreciate it more and more.

Now, it's in my regular listening rotation.

This is probably a first, but believe it or not, the first few times I heard "Come Monday" (WAY back when, when I got S.Y.K.B.H. on vinyl) I didn't like it. After hearing it live at my first concert in 1987, I truly love that song.

Others are "Oysters & Pearls" (I love it now-totally awesome lyrics), and the entire "Banana Wind" C.D. Now I love all the songs on it except "Mental Floss" and "Treetop Flyer". I always skip through those two.

I agree Dally - it took me a few listens too, but now I love it.

Permanant Reminder of a Temporary Feeling had to grow on me, but I really like the lyrics. Baby's Gone Shoppin' still sucks. Hot Water is my least favorite cd. I love Barometer Soup, and Off to see the Lizard. Everthing on FSOTW is awsome. BTW, where are the DVD's? I was sure we would have some by now.

It goes without saying, I love all the old classics. However, in comparison the newer music in my opinion, is far better. Nostalic no, but great tunes. Far Side of the World, I'm gonna wear out, I've programmed my cd players to repeat that song over and over. The albums from Fruitcakes forward are just great, especially the ones with the current group of Reefers. Barometer Soup, I feel is the overall best, followed by Far Side, then Beachouse.

I'm in 100% agreement. I doubt that I will ever like USS. Sorry Jimmy...
That's really the only song out of them all that I honestly say that I hate...
