It's funny this thread has come up again! And even better because the local paper here in Raleigh, NC is having a contest to find the biggest PARROTHEAD! In 150 words (yea, right) tell us why you are the biggest parrothead, favorite Buffett ablum, favorite line from a song, and what ONE question would you ask. Mine was simple put as:

"did you ever pay the mini-mart back?"

WDWGDAS? no, too forward
Do you love me as much as I love you? no, too desperate
Do you mind if I dance with your date? no, I don't wanna dance with Jane
Do you have room for one more on your road crew? no, probably gets that all the time
Does Charleston need a fulltime assistant, complete with husband and 2 kids? no, not realistic
Where is the best parking lot pre-game festivities? no, he told us on 6/28/03
Is there anything we, as parrotheads, can do to make you proud? no, we're doing it
Can you give me front row tickets for life? no, I entered, but lost
Can I buy you a drink? no, don't want to be accountable if he crashes

Are you as phanatic about anyone or anything, as parrotheads are about you, your music, and your lifestyle? ya that's it... that's what I wanna know.

Great question and some really great answers.
Yeah, I'd like to ask him to drop around to my cottage for a weekend or so, have a few beers, barbecue something tasty, and get out the guitars to start up the Farren Lake Fantasy Folk Festival (sure you can spell that all with PHs if you like). . . This is an idea that's been bubbling in my brain for a while. My brother's a musician (a really good one!), so he'd have to included. Jimmy and Mac, too, who is wonderful. A great Canadian banjo picker and singer-songwriter, Bob Bossin. The Mighty Popo, a great African-Canadian entertainer. And the very-famous-in-French-Canada-but-barely-recognized-in-the-rest-of-the-country Robert Charlebois, who has been rocking away in the same veins as Jimmy for about as long. Since he owns a brewery, he can bring the beer! If Jimmy doesn't already know Charlebois' "oeuvre" (body of work) he certainly should! And, Joe Bennett, too, for good measure. Wow, what a party! My lawn is big but maybe not big enough for that crowd....
Sorry to ramble all over this thread, but when the ideas start flowing......

Since I am moving to New Orleans in August, I would ask Jimmy about his time down there. What was some of the coolest things he ever did down there? He often compares New Orleans to Key West in APL@50, so I would like to hear more about that.

As much as I would want to ask him about touring, his music, parrotheads, I think I would be more interested in the places he has been, and favorite things he has done.
