Total Recorder Question

I'm a newbie with Total Recorder and have a question for some experienced users. RM has crapped out for the last two Buffett shows (Jones Beach and GW) causing my Total Recorder to record dead air.
For last night's show, RM only was off for maybe a total of 2 minutes before coming back and staying on for the rest of the night, once I restarted my real player.
However, since I was recording the show at my work computer, I could not restart Radio Margaritaville, thus TR only taped the first 5 minuts or so of the concert.
I guess the question I have is there any way TR when it recognizes dead air, restart the the feed it's pulling the audio from...in this case Real Player?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Your Question there was kind of confusing but i think i get what ur trying to get at.
Total Recorder shouldnt stop recording if there is a drop off. I had it hapeen to me once but not since then. I do it at my comp at home so im always keeping an eye on it anyway. But Total Recorder shouldnt cut off.
How long did u have it set to record for. Its possible that u accidently set it to record for 5 minutes.

as a expert user in Total Recorder
If you are reciving feed through your real player----it will recored. If the player is buffering or connecting---the TR will like pause, and continue as soon as you have feed

Just like Sir Gumby said:
Two different things here. If you rebuffer, then TR will pause the audio recording. (make sure you have set to do that)
If feed coming thru (real player on the bottom, time is still moving forward) and dead air, for example Sat nights show had dead air for 20 min on Radio margar..'s end. That will keep recording.
I think you can also set it to split but you may have problems when Buffett pauses for example, and you may get unwanted recorder pauses.
As for reconnecting on own...no, you have to be there to reconnect. However I think TR's Pro edition is still worth it. Especially if you have a DSL or cable modem. The Real Player will shut down once the recorders timer ends. Then you can tell your firewall to block after so many minutes of inactivity.
Use CD wave to cut out dead air, save the show as a mp3 temp on a RW disc until show is replayed.
I had this problem with Jones Beach. I set the recorder and Real Player's server disconnected from me. Total stayed open untill the sked timer ended. However, since real Players connection was lost I was not here to dial it in again.

Thanks for all the tips!

I had set TR for 3 1/2 hours (8-11:30) for last Thursdays show. When I got to work the next day, TR info showed file completed, stop time as 11:30, etc. However, when I went to play back the recording using either TR or Real Player, the actual recording was like 10 minutes. So it appears, that when RM cut out for like a minute or 2, early in the concert,Real player stopped and TR did not reconnect to it. Thus it recorded over 3 hours of nothing, which because I have eliminate silence checked off, the cut it all off.

Right, maybe future releases of TR would be able to reconnect on it's own. I still say it was worth the 35.00 (especially after all this time I've used it)

Hello PHellow Parrotheads.
Well, as my luck would have it, my computer went t.ts up last night, so my plans of recording the Portland show next Tuesday are in doubt. I would be greatly indebted to anyone that might make a recording of this show on RM for me.
I know that this is a huge favor to ask, but I would love to have an actual show that I will be attending in my collection. Since we only see him every 3 or 4 years, we don't have too many more chances for this.
I do not have any other live recordings (other than YHTBT, FF and T,TH,SAT) for trade, but I have made some very cool best of, and my favorites type of recordings that I would be willing to swap.
If my request is not possible, I understand, but it is worth a try to see if the PH's can come through for me.
Fins Up to everyone, and thanks in advance!
