Howdy!!!

Has everyone recovered from Saturday nights adventure yet? Heehee!!!

The tailgate was awesome!! Thanks to TSITC for letting us crash his tailgate and for the ticket exchange. We greatly appreciate it!!!

The concert was AWESOME!!! Buffett looked like he was having a great time and that make's a big difference. I think he likes playing SD.

I hope everyone had as much fun as we did!!!

If that didn't make much sense, keep in mind I just flew home over night and have come to the office straight away. I'm a bit tired. Heehee!!!

Thanks again!!!

I looked for a few of you people and think I found pirate's area but he wasn't in. The gals there probably thought I was an idiot introducing myself as mademoiselledanser!

I thought the parking lot was pretty fun. We had palms trees and sharks, a bar etc. Loved the volcano, boat/bar and the dogs with fins.

We got there at 12:45 and found a spot right away without killing anyone (was looking out for small boys) it was a piece of cake! I've got some pics of the parking lot I'll try and put up somewhere.

My friend also made the comment that it seemed Buffett liked San Diego...he's so fun!

i was there, and from san jose also. for any of you regular coors inhabitants, have you ever seen or experianced any problems with the event staff (safety crew)? i have never been to any other venue, where they made themselves almost a part of the show. they seemed a bit both lax in their crowd control, and in your face at the same time. are crowds at coors more rowdy than anywhere else, and therefore the event staff have to be that way?

i saw the sdphc happening ongoing, but as there were a lot of flagpoles al around, i did not find capt gary. i know, i know, i coulda asked.
i did find pirate 40 and his good looking girlfriend. both very friendly.

and so, on to irvine (the saturday show)

I have survived....and I'm ready to do it again on Saturday in Irvine!!

It was a great tailgate! People really arrived early--We got there at 12:30 and the lot seemed close to half full!!! I knew it was going to be fun. Last year the portable pots didn't have lines till 4:30pm, but this year there were lines at 1.

It was great getting to meet some of you for the first time--SchoolGirlHeart, Elrod, ComeToTheMoon.

I missed SDPirate40, mademoiselledancer, and I didn't get to take crabman up on his offer of Ballast Point beer.

Hopefully, some of you will be at Irvine and I can meet you then.

San Diego has really increased its party atmosphere from what it was last year---did anyone catch that guy with the artificial penis hanging out!!! It was wild. For the show, we were in the lawn area, and I have never in my life seen so much beach ball activity--and I've been to 12 shows now!!

I look forward to Irvine and an even bigger and wilder party!!

Thanks SITC and Mrs. for the tattoo for Shane and your hospitality and for all the BN introductions. I appreciate it---I'll definitely see you in Irvine on Saturday!!

daddymention,

The She-Crab and I looked all over for the SDPHC people (even close to the banner and where the caterers were cooking up a storm) but everyone we asked couldn't navigate us to TSITC, SD Pirate, or the Mayor so we just "shared the wealth" of good brew, Tequila, Mango Tango and (the "nearly famous") Very Scary Berry Margaritas with the people around us. There was also a party in our area who were delivering jello shooters by radio-controlled shark and giving out "bead whore" stickers (and some mardi-gras beads too). Was that you, Miss Magic?

What surprises me is that none of you saw the guy with a crab on his head (and his wife wearing a lobster hat) and put 2+2 together...Well, maybe this coming Saturday at Irvine...

Back to the issue at hand: DM, I saved a BP for you (that makes 3 I still have here at the house) and you are more than welcome to it this weekend.
I promise it will be easier to find me. Just look for a black Mitsubishi truck flying a big Skull & Crossbones flag with a license plate of PIR8 TRK and chances are you will find one or both of us (and maybe a friend or two) in close proximity. If that doesn't work, I gave TSITC my cell # (If the phone doesn't ring, it's him!!! :P) so SOMEONE can call and find out where we are...

As for the show; well, I've seen Jimmy and the band do better, but it was enjoyable to say the least. I'm getting to the point that I would rather hear Jimmy and the band "pull something out of the hat" than listen to them play "Come Monday" another time. When the band has a catalog of 200+ songs, it's kind of a drag to hear the same stuff tour after tour.

SD's parking lot may have improved, but it has a long way to go to catch up to Irvine (pardon me if I brag on my "home venue"). We just can't bring the truck down to SD..We usually do more than just the concert when we go South and can't secure all our stuff without a shell, but Irvine is less than an hour from home and all we do the day after is Brunch before heading home (and don't have to hire a cat-sitter for the kids).

Hope we get to meet some of you this weekend :pirate: .

Crabman:
You can brag all about your home venue--it was my home venue for 6 out of my 12 shows--We moved to San Diego in January 1993--before that we lived in Ontario, I will never knock Irvine--the San Diego shows have always made me miss Irvine--but now it's starting to look good down here too.

Sorry I missed you on Saturday--come to think of it, I did see someone with a crab on his head talking to some people in line at the bathrooms. All I remember hearing was that this person said that it doesn't bite. Could that have been you? If so, I was already drunk and not registering these things correctly. We were partying about 50 feet from the SDPHC. They were within our sight at all times. SITC was only another 50 feet further away and he was walking by quite often.

Anyway, I'm gonna PM you my cell # so we can meet up in Irvine, cause in that lot, who knows where we'll end up and/or what time it will open. We'd like to be there by 1.

Looking forward to seeing many of you in Irvine, I will be there both shows.

Had a great time, the best SD parking lot ever. San Diego is coming alive!

Irvine, here we come!

Stop by and say hello, no motorhome this time, just me and a friend in a little white convertible blasting Buffett (with a little Marley thrown in) with PIRET 40 tags. We will be drinking captn & cokes, stop by y'all....

Massachusetts to San Diego -- Far Side of the World!

Hi, We tried hard to find the BN folks in Chula Vista but no luck. We traveled from Massachusetts to San Diego to visit family and take in the concert. We had a great time decorating my brother-in-law's truck with the kids and putting together our theme. We had "MASSACHUSETTS TO SAN DIEGO -- FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD" on the back of the truck which got a lot of attention. "You came all the way from Massachusetts for the show????" YEAH, we did! We were parked in the dirt area right at the entrance. Great spot to watch the comings and goings in that lot. If you'd like to see some of our photos, go to: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/jkibbe1 and look in the SanDiego/Buffett folder. We got some good shots of many people having a good time.

Since I'm a space nut, it was great to see the footage of Jimmy talking to the astronaut on the ISS and to know he was in the audience too.

Our opinion of the concert is it was slower moving than Great Woods (Tweeter Center) in Mansfield, MA usually is, but still a good show. Loved that Kettle Corn! We don't have that in MA.

We loved the Coors venue. No poles in the way holding up the pavillion. We had lawn seats but a great view.

As we walked into my sister's home after the concert only about 20 minutes from Coors, the late night news had a story on the concert. We have a 2 hour drive home from Great Woods in tiny Massachusetts.
Sorry we didn't get to meet any of you.

That was by far the best San Diego show I have ever been two. The SD parking lot is absolutely catching up to Irvine! Coors is a much better venue.

This year it took a GIANT leap forward.....not quite Irvine, far from Great Woods but yet its moving up the food chain very quickly.

Wow-- April's rollin' around again and I'm reminiscing about the recent years that Jimmy's come to So Cal in the spring... I'm having a hard time waiting for the fall -- but watching with anticipation for the release of the next Chula Vista date!

We had an AMAZING time at the last one (as expected, of course!) Got the beach going, filled the place with a plethora of inflatables, and even got the pool filled up with the help of a friendly fireman crew!!! Some other highlights of the tailgate for me was a highly tricky but enjoyable game of Twister, some incredible Mai Tais, and finding out that the camera crew who asked to film us ended up putting us on the news! (KUSI, I think).

I looked for some of you all at what looked like some prime locations, but ended up having no luck... Hope to catch up with some of you next time though!

See you in September! (Or maybe October???) 8)
