I forgot to add that the better half works for a cruise line so it's been free cruises to the Caribbean for the past 10 years...keeps me sane!!! Okay - free to get on the boat but I sure end up spending a lot of fun tickets once we're cruising!

Big words for I get to play with computers and get paid for it.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body; but rather to skid in PortSide, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming,
'What a lovely cruise!'

I was only talking to someone the other day and as I get close to finishing another year in my job and that will total 24 for the same employer (yes, I started VERY young at 15) .... We were talking about how I see some people that come to work, turn up, but you just know they hate getting up of a morning and going in there. I can honestly say - in 23 years and 10 months, I have NEVER hated my job! Yes, I have days where I wake up and dont want to go in cause I am tired etc ... but I really do love it in there!

Whilst it is a really stressful place to work because of the nature of the job - you need to look at the benefits - and I know a good thing when I am on it!

4 weeks annual leave, with the option to buy an extra 4 weeks to make it 8.
3 weeks sick leave a year which accrues if not used
Unlimited carer leave for sick family members
I also get long service leave each year - 3 months at the 10 year month and then 2 weeks each year after that - so I have 4 months of that accrued.
Work flex time - start when you want, finish when you want ....
Have flex days - 3 a month , meaning I usually work a 5 day week once a month - or maybe twice if I am not quick enough booking a day off!
Office closes down at midday on Christmas eve and re-opens Jan2 - and we dont lose any leave for that. (we work an extra 4 minutes a day every other day of the year to have that!)
Days off to move house etc
I can go on, but you got the picture!

oh yeah, in April - we are moving to a brand new waterfront office :D

Creeky, why would you ever want to move to the U.S.? I think we should all move there! Do you think you could get us all jobs in your place?!
