I think I read here it starts at 2:00 this year.

Unofficially (since we're still waiting for NYCPort to make it official) I am frustrated! I decided that I was going to go to Vegas no matter what, well why are flights running at $400+ for that weekend? Do the airlines know about the concert??? I just don't think I can afford that, being the poor grad student that I am!
Can anyone help me???!!!!!

If you have never been to vegas you should do all you can to make it, one thing you about Vegas is you can never overhype how much fun it is. So rob the blind, steal from the poor collect cans do whatever you can to get on that plane.
If you are flexable try priceline.com maybe you can get a flight in the 250-300 range. We got a flight through delta out of Hartford for $260 RT with a stop in Cincy.

Here's my post. Everyone get their asses to Lost Wages!!!
Now in all seriousness (is that a word?) Here's Uncle Matty's travel tip for the day: The only way you can get cheap airfares to Vegas on a weekend is to take the redeye home, or try first thing Monday morning. I'll give you an example. If I wanted to leave Vegas at 11:30pm on Sunday night that would get me back to NY at 7am Monday. The last time I looked these fares were around $250. If I wanted to leave Vegas in the early afternoon so I would be home on Sunday night those fares are about $100 more. If you don't care what time your flights are try priceline.com or Hotwire.com. They won't tell you what time your flights are, or what airline you are on until you pay. One last trick is to try and book your own connecting flights. Example: Fly to Dallas on American roundtrip and then separately book a roundtrip from Dallas to Vegas. The trick here is to knowing where the "Hub" of the particular airline you are booking with is.
This time I think we are going to learn from last year's trip as far as what events our group will be attending. We will be a little lower key this year. I'm sure some of you will disagree; this is only one man's opinion. We plan on drinking profusely at The Flamingo's pool on Friday and Saturday during the day. Friday night we'll be heading to Key Largo for that party. I wouldn't go to Tommy Rockers if it were free. It's a bunch of PH's standing around in a parking lot with a cash bar and a band. The party at MGM is a lot of PH's wondering around in a closed amusement park (no rides working) with over priced drinks and food. I was very disappointed in this event last year, don't even get me started about the drink and food ticket thing! After the show it's gambling time! MGM has some good action on a Saturday night and if leave right after the show you'll most likely get a seat/space at a table.
That being said we do need to figure out at what event we should all meet. The Key Largo party seems to be the best choice. Anyone who wants to hang out at huge pool with us a The Flamingo we will sneak you in with no problems, relax we're professionals. There is also a monorail across the street that takes you right to MGM for the show.
Now can we start BOR?

What NYCPort said! I ended up using Travelocity instead of Priceline (I just hate the lack of control over flight times
). I'll be getting to Vegas around 10:00am Saturday morning and then flying out at 6:30am Sunday morning. Awful flight times (and there's one stop-over each way) but I'll be flying to Vegas for $165. One of the phone reps for Delta said it's the "high season" for Vegas, too.
Anyway, I'll be going to Vegas for the first time ever. Can't wait! Good luck finding a flight!
