Prayers to Rhode Island

Our thoughts and prayers are with you for the tragedy that occurred Thursday night. What a true nightmare you are all facing. Obviously the question comes to mind: how safe are we at events really? It is spooky that while trying to leave the AAArena in Miami following Jimmy's show that my wife commented if there were a fire we wouldn't stand a chance. And this is a large venue. We had upper level seats and everyone was herded like cattle to one exit. It was a crush and there was no panic involved. I wonder who plans for contingencies and if they are competent. Perhaps it was a security knee-jerk to world events that reduced the number of exits but that seems like bass ackward thinking to me. Decreasing the risk of one dilemna to increase another. There is a lot of finger pointing going on between Great White and the club owner but it's too late. None of it will bring all those wonderful people back. All we can ask is that those in charge of event safety have a good plan for success. We are placing our safety in their hands when we fork over our money. We should expect nothing less.
