On January 22nd, Jimmy was interviewed by Jeff Mills of Houston, who is doing a documentary about the China Clipper airline, Pan American World Airways.
You all know Jimmy loves flying and has his own air force including a (OK two) seaplane... and has written them into his songs and stories...
The discussion covered seaplanes, their place in our US history of viation, not to mention the adventure and romance around them.

Lots of cool stuff on this documentary web site! Including a link back to Jimmy's adventures in Hemisphere Dancer on margaritaville.com

Jimmy's Airplanes, need Stearman pictures....
And 2 of the 4 are seaplanes...
Hemisphere Dancer is a Grumman Albatross (2 radial engines) (my favorite!!)
Then there is his Dassault Falcon 50 (3 jet engines, a NNNice one!) and
His most recent acquisition is a vintage Stearman biplane... (open cockpit 2 seater with 1 radial engine). My dad learned to fly in one of those ....back in '43!
I have not seen any pictures of Jimmy's Stearman!!! Anybody got any?
He has had 2 other seaplanes, The Lake Renegade, and the Grumman Widgeon (bubbles up!)
Maybe when he retires from performing, he will go fly for Chalks Ocean Airways!!! (see links under margaritaville.com) the only way to fly!
