I understand the reasoning for wanting to get there early but remember it's a weekday show and spring break for most school systems here is the week before. Personally I would be surprised if the gates don't open noon at the earliest and even then I wouldn't expect the crowd to start filling in until 4-5. I'm planning on getting there around 2ish.
It's an early season appearance so here's hoping it's warm enough for proper Buffett attire. Mid-April around Atlanta can be well into the 80s but it can just as easily be in 50s. Definitely bring something to put on once the sun goes down.
See y'all soon!!

I've been skunked on tickets this time, don't know if I'll be there or not. Maybe show up for the party at least, and see if there's any tickets floating around. That worked 3 years ago at Lakewood.

Atlanta is a great venue-have fun there! Police are great, parking lots are great. Will miss it this year but I'll be at NISSAN instead!

It will be interesting to see how things go in the lots considering the factors you mentioned, MattDreams. I definitely hope that the weekday show will reduce the number of drunk, clueless folks that show up.

two pages - now we're talking. So long as the gates are open at noon - I'll be happy!

We'll be there!!

Boy, were the ticket gods shining on us!

Scored 30 tickets - most ever! I was out of town at a conference - was really quite bummed beforehand that I would not be able to do my part by standing in the Ticketmaster line. Hubby & Father-in-law went to a new Publix opened not far from us. There were 10 people in line & they drew lottery tickets #3 & #8. The very efficient Publix employee got 8 people through before the lawn tix sold out. So we scored 20 lawn tickets there. Meanwhile, I ducked out of my seminar & started rotating through the 4 Ticketmaster #'s I had programed on my cell phone. I actually got through & got 10 more in the mail the next week! In addition, one of my husband's co-workers got 20 tickets & they will be joining our party! Holy cow - Low Country Boil for 50!
The calls are out to all our phaithphull PH friends. Just waiting to see who can come in from out of town before we offer them up to our local friends.
So much to do!

Got to reserve the motorhome, plan the menu, etc., etc.
Hope to meet some BN'ers in the parking lot. We'll probably get there around noon. If last year was any indication, all the RV's will be in one area of the lot. Since I had certain "hostess" duties, I wasn't able to wander the whole lot - only got out for a short sightseeing walk

I'll try to get out a little more this year.
Stopped in South Carolina on my way back to town the weekend of ticket sales & stocked up on Sparklers. Look for us on the lawn ... we will be the "Sparkler People" that Jimmy loves!
One last thought on the tickets - there were still reserved seats left after the lawn tickets sold out. Just goes to show you - everyone knows where the party is at Lakewood!

Yes, the police are great... I'll have to post the picture my bf took of me on the policeman's motorcycle with my margaritta in my hand at the ATL show in Feb this year! They were all standing behind their bikes watching all of us drunk-pholk head to the arena and my friend asked if we could sit on the bikes! It was hilarious. They should stood back and laughed.
I can't wait for this show!!

We plan on getting to Atlanta from Clemson around 9 or 10 and we plan on having the ultimate tailgate. We did it at Charlotte last year (by the way, it is a disappointment we dont get another Charlotte show this year) and had a ball. We'll have the coolers full of beer, the grills ready for cooking, the shrimp ready to boil, now all we need is some fun loving girls that want to hang out with us college guys.
