Miss Scarlett sounds like she knows what she's doing. Do you always rent a motorhome? I've always wanted to do that. Do any car rental places rent those, or do you have do go diggin'?

So what's everybody bringing to their tailgates to make them "unique"? Its brainstorm time.....I've got the staples, ie palm trees, margaritas and cheesburgers in paradise, but I need something really cool!!!!! I'll be bringing some tailgate "virgins" (they came with us to the concert in Feb, but its not the same) So what can I do to make there first extra special!!

A1A is back at Malone's before the show. Here are the details:
A1A is playing at Malone's on Virgina Ave. (near the airport) from 3pm to 7pm before the Buffett show, and for two hours after the show, as well. To ride the bus to the concert is $10, and there are a few tickets to the Buffett show available for $75. Corona is giving away some nice prizes as well.

I'll be there in the early afternoon, with 2 vets and 3 rookies. Hope the weather is nice. You just can't beat some sunshine, Corona, and Buffett.

A week from today!!! YEY!!! I can't wait.
Looks like it's going to be hard to convince my boyfriend to be out there at noon. We were at the Feb show by 1 and were basically the only ones until about 2 or so. Lots of people here have hinted towards noon... how many people really plan to be there then? (I may still be able to convince him if I can assure him that the "cool" people will be there. - he did ask if BNers were going to be there by then!

)
Miss Scarlet?? how about you?? It sounds like your place is the place to be!

Lakewood tailgating is TOTALLY different than the few hardcore tailgaters at Phillips. You can be assured you will not be the only ones there if you arrive around noon. Our crew will hopefully be there by 1:30pm. You could always go without him!

What ATLparrothead said! I know I'll be there by noon and I've talked to several others that aren't BN'ers that plan to be there at 8:00am. Seems like Aquaholic mentioned that he'd be there bright and early on the other Atlanta thread, too.
Only 7 days! Phinz up, folks! I'll be there at noon.

We'll be down there before noon hopefully. We're coming down from Clemson so its not that far of a drive. The only problem is getting everybody coordinated. Regardless of everyone else with us, my car is leaving around 9ish and will be drinking once we get there. Hopefully we'll have a generator with us so we can have a blender and such and we're a fun loving college group so everyone is welcome to join us!

The past few years, the gates have opened around 8:30am. There were already plenty of people waiting to get in. By 9:00, there was a traffic jam of people trying to get in. This year, since it's a weekday concert and in April, I don't expect quite as many people to be there that early, but noon should be ok. The weekend summer shows at Lakewood are the things legends are made of; I'm waiting to see how spring, weekday shows go over in the parking lot, and what time they open the gates.

Should we try to organize a BN meeting area in the parking lot?

Ok, ok, you've convinced me. I should be able to talk him into it. What about this weather, though!?! YUCK! Let's hope the storm takes a turn south or something and the sun shines bright on Thursday!

WJS! Of course, the weather forecasts are fairly different between different news outlets. Best I've heard so far is 40% chance of isolated thundershowers. So that means a 60% chance of sunshine, right?

This just in.

Here is some new straight from the horses mouth (Lakewood, er, HiFi Buys) Amphitheatre. BTW, I think they decide when to open the gates moments before they actually do.
Here is the list of info and of no can do's from Lakewood
Gates open: Between 10am and 11am
No no's: bottles,sand,pools,kegs
No golf carts. (APD will ticket as a drunk driving offense)
No overnight camping
Beer/drinks in cans and cups will be OK
There will be random carding for those with alcoholic beverages

Thanks, c2! For what it's worth; they have said the same thing about glass bottles every year yet they haven't enforced it come the day of the show. Watch this be the year they start following through after we've bought our cases of Corona's.

Yep, I know what you mean. One year they claimed they weren't going to allow RVs. We convinced them there'd be a riot, and hundreds of abandoned RVs outside if tried that. Every year Lakewood comes up with a list of things they aren't going to allow, and every year they ignore it. I can tell you, though, that they REALLY HATE sand being brought in to any paved lot. Of course, everyone brings Corono in bottles; they must realize they can't stop it. I think each year they forget Buffett is the only reliable sell out they have.
