I was just heading to work this morning and A pirate looks @ 40 came on my CD player. I have an mp3 player and the disc has over 200 songs on it. Anyways, the version from You had to be there came on and I had to keep back tracking and listening to it. I lisetened to it 3 times on the way to work!! That song is so incredibly awesome. It is what Buffett music and lifestyle is all about. It made me yearn for a Captain and Diet lemon Pepsi. I have been trying to cut back a little this week preparing for Erik Pietsch here in California and Buffett in Vegas BUT what the hell I think I may just tie one on tonight and listen to A pirate looks @ 40 a few more times this evening!!!
Hell it's Friday!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!

Through the years, A Pirate Looks at 40 still is the number one classic Buffett song. Every time I here it, I just stop what I'm doing and listen to the lyrics. I agree........AWESOME SONG!!
Thanks, Jimmy!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely the one song that got me hooked. However, I prefer the Feeding Frenzy version. I posted however to join in the uncontrollable howling over this guy ordering a diet lemon pepsi or whatever it was. That is hilarious. I'm with barefoot, give me all that crap with rum and then hold all the crap. BTW, for the rum drinkers, try Barbancourt, excellent flavor. Diet lemon pepsi, excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor.

A pirate looks at 40. Everytime that song comes on at a concert it seems like everyone just stops and takes it in. My buddies and pretty much evryone around us put hands over shoulders and just Sways back and forth while we sing. It is probably one of my favorite experiences of every concert i go to.
Diet Lemon Pepsi hmmmmm!

Fantastic song. However, I too, have to question the diet lemon pepsi.

o.k., o.k., I am taking way too much heat about the diet pepsi comment. Make that 2 shots captain morgan, 1 shot parrot bay shaken twice over ice with a lime!!!!

Gotta add to this thread also, Pirate is my all time favorite song, I was lucky enough to have a front row center seat when I turned 40 and he sat on a barstool right in front of me and sang Pirate, brought tears to my eyes. And my drink is Captain and diet pepsi with lime, gets ya drunk and skinny at the same time! I'll have to try the lemon diet pepsi.

I hate to admit it but I'm a pirate with 40 in my wake.
However, a chalice (tin cup) full of Appleton's rum on ice
cut with diet lemon Pepsi and a chunk of lime, makes a
pirate over 50, feel real fine. Calories aren't to bad either.
As always, G.M.,Jr.

I'm glad you posted this. I just turned 39 and I'm starting to realize I don't drink liquor as well as I used to - it's getting harder to remember the night before. I guess the day will come when I'll be mixing instead of taking a shwig from the bottle. I guess that's what is referred to as "the good 'ole days."
And tnsna, just shut up and drink (and I mean that in a friendly way). I say that because I used to work with a Captain of a fishing boat who got me saying that. Except it was shut up and fish. And now that I have my captain's license, I'll tell ya, there is nothing better than to say to someone, "just shut up and fish."
Uh oh. It's time for another Corona.

Hey barefoot, if I make the trek out there will you take me fishin? You could have your pick, shut up and fish, or shut up and drink!

I prefer shut up and drink. But to properly go fishing, one must have beer (at least). That way if you don't catch any fish, at least you catch a buzz.
And I must be honest, even though I still have my captain's license, I don't do that anymore (I'm a computer ho, and I hate it). The feds restricted all kinds of fishing where I live. But, I'm considering moving to Florida (gotta stay by Mother Ocean) and I'll probably rely on my license for a job there. I could however talk to my old boss and he'd let me run a boat some weekend.

A Pirate Looks at 40 is a great song...one of the best...but i have always been partial to tryin to reason with hurricane season, i mean who hasnt passed out till noon...i just need to add a hammock but that would be a little chilly up here in michigan. pirate is definatly a classic hell the whole a1a album is classic they are all my favorites.
definatly go with the captains and coke...nothin better then sittin on a beach and sipin the sweet taste of rum...
