I'm still excited about it. The alternate and live versions sounds quite interesting. I like all the songs, except I could have done without "Why Don't We Get Drunk." It's an okay song, but as a Christian and just as a person in general I'm just not a huge fan of it, although I like everything about it except the title and the chorus. Oh well, still an awesome CD. I can't wait.

You people are awful. Almost everyone that's posted has said why are the old songs on there. I have one question How many of us would be parrottheads without them? I know i wouldn't. I can't wait to hear new version of He went to Paris and The Captin and the kid. And i'm glad the old songs are on there.

People, if we're lucky Jimmy will still be "working" 10 years from now. Then, there will be no shows (other than probably a few benefit shows) and no albums PERIOD! Think about that!

We are not awful
"You people"
We are not "awful," we are just people who just so happen to NOT BE sheep and go like lambs to slaughter.

NEW ALBUM
I will buy anything Jimmy puts out. True there are a lot of songs that have already been on other albums. But these are the songs we all grew to love and make us into Parrotheads. honestly would a concert be a Buffett show without, Margaritaville, Pirate at Forty, or Come Monday, I think not. It just wouldnt be the same for me personally. Jimmy wont be around much longer and there will be no more concerts, lets enjoy the ones he has left, and the cd's and memories he gives us. I know that some of my best memories of my life will be spending those nights at many concerts with friends and family. I for one though would love to see a Live concert put out on DVD with backstage and parking lot parties on it.

A concert DVD would have been the way to go!!! In fact a very different band, Rush, is releasing a live concert DVD with backstage footage, interviews and 3 hours of music! In my opinion, this would have been the better choice for Jimmy to have given to the fans. Being the last "live video" is nearly 20 years old!!! And let's face it, Buffett live is better than any "greatest hits" package!!!!

"New" album
I love JB as much as you all do...but part of loving a musician is expressing not only what you like, but what you don't like. I don't like that he seems to be on "auto pilot" with this "new" album.
I used to think the people on "COBO" who felt that Jimmy's best songwriting days were behind him were wrong. I am beginning to wonder now...
Between the Krispy Kremes, the empire of M'ville Cafes, Cheeseburger Restaurants, and now Margaritaville Frozen Shrimp -- for Christ's Sake. Give me a break, people. This is not a NEW album, and this is not a genuine attempt to deliver a quality product. This is a means to make more money so that he can continue to build capital to continue these business ventures...
Honestly, I think if they put the Margaritaville logo on a piece of sh*t, some of you would buy it. No, I take that back: some of you would buy two of them.
If I wanted this album, I'd just burn myself a greatest hits compilation.

There is no denying that!! Those are facts and I agree with the "auto pilot" statement. Bottom line is, I think the frustration is that there is no "new album" of Jimmy Buffett material. Not rehashed or recycled songs and certainly not cover songs!!!! My real problem is that this is a compiliation of Jimmy's Ultimate Collection! Don't you think that there should only be Buffett songs on it and not anyone elses? He has nearly 30 studio albums for cryin' out loud all of which have amazing songs on them! You would think, like most bands do, that Jimmy would have released a greatest hits package that contained 1-3 "brand new songs" that were written by Buffett, not "brand new" songs written by someone else! Why sell something that isn't yours? That is why the auto pilot statement is true! So now we have less Buffett songs in concert that we really want to hear, and more songs by other artists that Jimmy bought and recorded! It is out of hand!

Personally, I was hoping he'd do something similar to what U2 did, and put out three seperate albums, like the the best of the 70's, 80's, and 90's, like U2 did with their The Best of 1980-1990 and The Best of 1990-2000 albums. That makes a bit more sense to me.

Where is Jimmy Buffett?
Something I have faced a long time ago is that Jimmy Buffett is a fictional character. He's a CEO and no longer a beach bum. Hence his abandoning of Key West.
There was once a Jimmy Buffett, but he's now James Buffett. It will never be the same. Just remember one thing everything you think it is--it isn't.
They are feeding a myth to everyone that Buffett writes all of these songs, which the Reefers write. My advice to Parrot Heads is this..do not try to find out about the "real" Jimmy Buffett. It will only ruin your fun.
It's just fantasy, even Buffett says that.
OH YEAH AND YOU BETTER BELIEVE I'M GOING TO GO OUT AND BUY THE NEW ALBUM!
