 Well, another fruitless go-around for Jimmy tix. This is getting harder and harder each year! Well, I know Jimmy likes this summer gig, and loves to play his familiar haunts, but I think the time has come for him to move up to larger venues. I know quite a few parrotheads that frantically try again and again to get tickets for shows, and usually end up completely frustrated and are forced to go the scalper route. This morning, I spent 10 minutes on hold, was booted off, and then placed on hold for an additional 10 minutes, only to be told that all tickets were gone for Camden and Mansfield. Do you think it's time to get bigger? Please, I'll have my next Buffett show "SUPER-SIZED, with the junior mints and cherry coke"

I agree it may be time for a stadium tour, especially in the Boston area. They have ruined Great Woods with these uncovered Pavillion seats that cost 66 bucks. Basically they are Lawn tickets with an assigned seat. You can't see the stage after row 4 so you have to watch the concert on the video screens. Heck I can do that at a stadium and pay less and have less of a hassel getting tickets.

However, after 22 minutes and getting knocked off twice I did get through and buy 4 tickets for the saturday show. SEC 11 Row X (next to the top).
I'm doing the dance and happy as can be but 303 dollars for basic Lawn Seats is steep.

Oh well what's a strange bird to do.

Hmmmmm, Jimmy Buffett playing Schaffer, err Sullivan, no no Foxboro, no wait C.M.G.I. no, I know Gillette Stadium. Party 4+ hours or so and walk a mile to see the show. I would do that!

The "best way" is to up ticket prices to $150 each. Of course, that would cut into Jimmy's fan base, which would make it harder for him to sell $13 boxes of shrimp. So he's just gonna leave it go. I'm actually surprised tickets are this high.

See how everything ties together? Shrimp does matter...

This is a tough one, but I agree move the Boston shows to the Razor! He could probably bang the place out for 2 nights and play to 160,000 as opposed to 40,000 at Great Woods. I am a purist and love the intimacy, but the supply and demand don't equal out at all. It used to be 4 shows at Great Woods all sold out. He could play before the same number of people in one night in a Stadium.

Look at Springsteen, 10 shows at Giants Stadium this summer. He will play in front of 800,000 people in New Jersey alone. That is more people than Buffett will play in front of this year. I know Bubba plays every year so that is not a realistic comparison, but I know he could easily sell out 2 nights at the Stadium in Foxboro. Bon Jovi is playing Gillette Stadium this summer, need I say more? As far as the tailgating, anything goes in Foxboro! Just don't get caught smoking dope.

HMMMMMMMMM, this is a tough one, i can't say that i agree or diagree, i'm up in the air. What i will say is this, i think the system needs to be revamped so we are not loosing tickets to corporations and brokers, to me thats the bottom line. I think if we went to a bigger venue we would just have bigger problems, just my thought. One thing i will say is that the show is already sold out, now go look and see what the brokers are selling for lawns, so if you thought $66 was high how bout $250, bogus i say. And upwards of $1800 for lower pavilons. Who is running this show, Bin Laden for shits sake. Tells me there will be a lot of open, over priced seats come show time. But thats just one mans thought.

I agree, the broker prices are beyond ridiculous! $250 for a crappy lawn section seat is outrageous! Especially since the smaller lawn section opened last year at Greatwoods. I don't ever want to see Jimmy do stadiums though. The real problem is that none of these performers do a damn thing about the ticket brokers! Jimmy should be selling his tickets through his website or the Coconut Telegraph. He sell's prepackaged shrimp at Costco for cryin' out loud, he could at least sell his fans his tickets to better avoid this B.S. everyear!!!!

I like that idea....

I agree, Jimmy should throw in a Stadium show here or there, he would still sell out in the major markets, but at least we'd have a chance.
