Listen to this, my wife just got off the phone with Ticket Master in our constant quest to get more tickets. The operator asked if she wanted scattered or grouped, blah blah blah and tried tried to find them and was unable. So my wife asked if it was sold out and the operator said no that they will be releaseing tickets as they come available!!!!!!!!! So for all of you that missed....keep trying

I hate break this to you, but it is sold out. The $6.00 an hour operator was somewhat mistaken. If something does become available (which would occur around the last week in August) they will release a few here and there. I just don't want you guys to get your hopes up.

Their may be a few ticktets available this week here and there this week but nothing big. Prior to shipping TM confirms the shipping address with your CC adress if they don't match they try to contact you if they can't the tix go back into the system as available. They may not be relased for sale right away but some may. I agree with the Man above your best bet would be a week before the show and even that for great woods may not happen.

Got to agree with NYC and BOR here...
Individual and small groups of tix have ALWAYS occassionally surfaced on TM after the show was sold out for exactly the reasons already stated.
Hey, check TM every day for one or two ticks... you may get lucky. But the show is definitely sold out.

Check this out... While I am in agreement that the both GW shows are sold out, I still have a flicker of hope that sumthin' might surface and here's why.
Three years ago (you remember those days, right?? That's when we still had a frigin' lawn...) Anyway, that particular year I had left a voice mail for my Mom telling her to try for tickets on that upcoming Saturday. Well, somehow she got the days screwed up and was trying for tickets on Sunday the next day. The very first time she tried to get through she was sucessful. She got 4 lawn seats for the 9/2/00 Labor Day Weekend show 23.5 hours after it had supposedly been sold out.
So everytime I go on-line I visit the TM website. Probably a big waste fo time, but hey... Ya just never know...

Let's put it this way they didn't sell 39,800 tickets in 20 min. so there are still tickets, question is will they be gobbled up before they are released?

Keep your hopes up especially if you are willing to attend the thursday show.
Last year I got 3 tickets in sec 7 row g the monday prior to the thursday show. They released about 300 tickets that day however, they released no tickets at all for the saturday show last year. Look around the boards everybody wants Saturday tix's, even people are willing to trade thursday for saturday 2 for 1. If any Saturday tix remain come august someone will get a hold of them before ticketmaster has a chance to release them.

I still go in about 3 times a day and hope for anything, it's still pretty exciting for that 5 seconds or so when it is looking for tickets

WHOA THERE MY FRIEND!
This is patently UNTRUE.
I was there for the Saturday show last year at Great Woods, and the boxoffice started releasing bunches of lawn seats just after 12 Noon the day of the show. Furthermore, just after 4PM, I saw really nice pavillion seats being released by the boxoffice.
So...unless you have first hand info, please don't make such comments.

You Still have to get into the parking lot to get to the box office! Without tickets they won't let you drive in! Which could be why so little if any tickets are released at Great Woods. Not to throw water on the fire but if you are planning on getting tickets from the box office the day of the show you better have a plan B. Figuring out a way to get into the parking lot without tickets could prove just as tough as getting tickets. O Yea and the only first hand info I have is 10+ years of going to Buffett at GW!

Sorry bgsherris didn't mean to tick you off. I guess I didn't make clear the difference between Ticketmaster online and the Great Woods box office. Just to clarify, last year no tickets that I know of for the saturday show were made available via the Ticketmaster.com, however, many for the Thursday show were. I agree with Bottle of Rum if that's what you are hoping for this year I would come up with a better plan B.

Just to throw my two cents in here on ticket availability for Buffett at the Tweeter Center:
I live in Mansfield and have gone over to the TweeterCenter for many years. Here is what I can tell you about the last 2 years (4 shows) and what happens the day of the show.
2002:
Thursday - rain storm - I had 4 tickets I had to throw away due to no show (sec 1). I went up to the box office about 4:00. No line. They were selling Section 2 in the first 10 rows. No issue getting tickets. Also the guy in the back likes to put tickets on sale at night (after midnight). Last year on Wed, he went home and that night after midnight, put on line Section 3, about row AA,BB and CC. The year before I was on line at 12:30 at night and he put on-line front row for Aerosmith. So that is a good time to check.
Saturday - Nice day - I had tickets. They were selling tickets at the box office around noon. Long line, but the sales of tickets were moving. At the beginning they were selling Sec 2 and then moved to Sec 5 and 6
2001:
Thursday - I had no tickets. Was first in line at 9:00AM. Waited until 3:30 before they released tickets. Picked up 4 in Section 5, row D or so
Saturday - I had tickets. Noticed that people stayed in line till about 4:30 before they released any. Not sue how good they were.
For 2003, I have no idea what may happen, but with no show at Jones Beach, some of JB's freinds may show up. Also remember, the PGA will be having the Tiger Woods tournament this year next door (less than 500 feet away). That may eliminate potential releases as he may give some to the players, wives ect. But who knows???

The one problem with Steele1161's plan is that you have to spend the entire day on line at the box office not out in the lot. So you would miss half of the party.

So ask yourself this question: Would you rather spend half (if not more) the day in line to maybe get tickets at face value without a guarantee that you will actually get tickets OR Pay $50-$60 over face value from a broker or scalper and spend the whole day tailgating knowing you have tickets?
